In celebration of World Environment Day (WED) 2025, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) invite all UN offices across Asia and the Pacific to participate in the region-wide Beat Plastic Video Challenge. This challenge offers an exciting opportunity for teams to showcase their efforts in reducing plastic pollution and inspire others across the region.

Challenge Overview

The Beat Plastic Video Challenge is designed to raise awareness about the environmental impact of plastic pollution and highlight how UN offices are taking action to beat it. Teams will create a fun, engaging video (up to 90 seconds) that shares a lesson learned from nature and demonstrates how these insights have led to plastic-free practices in the workplace.

The most creative and impactful videos will be voted on during the online World Environment Day celebration event on 5 June and showcased through UNEP’s regional social media platforms. Video duration- The total duration should not be more than 02 minutes

Language- The content of the submitted video can be either in Hindi OR English

Procedure to send entries:

1. The entries must be submitted on MyGov, which are free of cost.

2. The duration of the short video should not be more than 02 minutes (120 seconds)

3. The video should be in Hindi or English.

4. Along with the necessary details, a YouTube link of the video and synopsis needs to be added.

5. The video needs to be uploaded on to YouTube as UNLISTED.

6. Please ensure the videos are shot in ratio 16:9 in Horizontal format. Videos shot using vertical formats will not be accepted

7. Captions and credits, if any, must be in legible font and colour and must be within the acceptable areas.

8. Storyboards, scripts as word or pdf documents or pictures will not be accepted as entries.

Information Technology Department is delighted to announce a Videography contest for the residents of Jammu and Kashmir. This contest aims to capture the developmental progress in the Union Territory on the occasion of UT Foundation Day (31st October 2023). Participants can showcase their talents and win exciting cash prizes.

Theme:

Participants can enter the contest through any of the mentioned themes and can take up any of the subjects for applying in the contest.

Eligibility

The contest is open to all, professional and amateur, regardless of age and gender.

Submission Guidelines for Short Video Film

1. Entry is limited to original works for which the entrant holds all applicable rights.

2. Entries and the persons depicted therein are restricted to works for which the entrant holds the copyright or for which the entrant has received the prior usage permission of the right holder.

3. Before submitting a work, the entrant is responsible for taking all steps necessary to protect the right of publicity and other rights of persons depicted in the work, including but not limited to obtaining their permission, to avoid any problems related to the infringement of these rights.

4. Entrants are responsible for the resolution of any legal issues arising from their submitted works and agree to pay any costs thereby incurred.

5. Entries including any content from (1) to (4) below may be disqualified at the IT Departments’s discretion:

a. Content that infringes on any laws, or is defamatory or libelous.

b. Content that constitutes or encourages criminal behavior, leads to civil liability, or that otherwise violates laws.

c. Commercial content that promotes products or services.

d. Content in which animals were harmed or manipulated in the making of said Content.

e. Content that infringes on the copyrights, trademarks, contract rights, or other intellectual property rights of a third person or entity (whether individuals or companies), or violates rights of privacy or publicity.

Video Guidelines

a. A video work consisting of video footage (with a length of 180 to 300 seconds )

b. Any video-recording device may be used.

c. File size: up to 100 MB of video data per work at the time of submission. File format: only MOV or MP4 will be accepted.

d. If any language other than English is used within the video, please ensure that English language subtitles are included for judging.

e. Winners might be asked to provide a higher-resolution video for promotional or display purposes related to the contest.

Awards and Prizes:

Category 1 Winners (above 18 years of age)

a. 1st Prize winner will receive a cash price of INR 10,000.

b. 2nd Prize winner will receive a cash price of INR 8,000

c. 3rd Prize winner will receive a cash price of INR 5,000

d. and 02 consolation prize of 3500/- each

Category 2 Winners (Special Encouragement award) (below 18 years of age)

a. 1st Prize winner will receive a cash price of INR 10,000.

b. 2nd Prize winner will receive a cash price of INR 8,000

Project Veer Gatha 3.0 Contests for Students

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE), India is organizing Project Veer Gatha 3.0 from August 8 to October 17, 2023.

Project Veer Gatha was instituted under Gallantry Awards Portal (GAP) in 2021 with the aim to disseminate the details of acts of bravery of the Gallantry Awardees and the life stories of these brave hearts among the students so as to raise the spirit of patriotism and instill amongst them values of civic consciousness.

Project Veer Gatha deepened this noble aim by providing a platform for school students to do creative projects/activities based on gallantry award winners. As part of this, the students framed different projects through various media like art, poems, essays, and multimedia on these gallantry award winners, and the best projects were awarded at the national level by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education.

Class 3 to 5: Poem/Paragraph (150 words)/Painting/Drawing/Multimedia Presentation/Video.

CyberReel Competition

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has set up the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) to handle all the issues related to cybercrime in a comprehensive and coordinated manner. I4C has a National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) i.e. www.cybercrime.gov.in wherein all the complaints pertaining to cybercrime are reported by the citizens. I4C also has a helpline number 1930, wherein financial cyber fraud complaints are reported by the citizens. One of the main objectives of I4C is to create an ecosystem for the prevention of cybercrime and to provide cyber safety tips to citizens for cyber hygiene.

To disseminate cyber awareness and cyber hygiene, I4C, MHA in collaboration with MyGov is hosting ‘Reel competition'.

Technical Parameters:

1. Select any one of the 5 Problem Statements in this competition.

2. Follow CyberDost on social media and check references for the problem statements.

3. Create an original Reel.

4. Post it on your social media account by 5 PM 30th June 2023

5. Keep your entry publicly visible on social media.

6. Use the hashtags #CyberDostReels on your reel.

7. Tag the official verified handle of I4C's CyberDost on your reel on Instagram.

8. Register on the MyGov website by 5 PM on 30th June 2023
