Are you a college student or early-career professional interested in AI, Web3, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, hardware, and innovative software solutions ? ORION 1.0 is a national-level hackathon that gives teams an opportunity to solve challenging technology problems and compete in a 24-hour offline finale.
Organised by Microsoft Club SIST, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai , ORION 1.0 features an online qualifier followed by a 24-hour offline Grand Finale at the SIST Chennai campus.
ORION 1.0 is designed to encourage innovation, technical problem-solving, creativity, teamwork, and practical solutions to real-world challenges .
The competition follows a two-stage structure:
- Round 1 – Online Qualifier: Teams select a problem statement and submit their solution proposal, system architecture and required presentation.
- Round 2 – 24-Hour Offline Grand Finale: The Top 70 teams selected from Round 1 participate in an intensive 24-hour hackathon at SIST Chennai.
Who Can Participate?
ORION 1.0 is open to:
- Undergraduate students
- Postgraduate students
- PhD students
- Early-career working professionals across India
Cross-institutional, cross-department and multidisciplinary teams are welcome. Teams consist of 2 to 6 members .
