CADD Centre Design and Innovation Challenge
Students interested in engineering, product design, automotive technology, aeronautics, mechatronics, and emerging mobility solutions can participate in the International Design Competition (IDC) 2026, organized by CADD Centre Group in partnership with Dassault Systรจmes.
The competition is designed to give students hands-on exposure to modern design and engineering technologies while challenging them to develop solutions for emerging industry problems.
IDC 2026 focuses on four key aspects of future-ready talent: First Principles Thinking, Problem Prevention, Multi-Disciplinary Competence, and the use of advanced technologies such as AI and AR/VR/MR/XR.
About International Design Competition 2026
The International Design Competition 2026 provides students with an opportunity to learn and apply design, modelling, simulation, validation, and presentation skills through a multi-stage competitive format.
Participants will work with the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, a technology platform adopted by more than 10,000 enterprises in India, according to the organizers.
One of the highlights of IDC 2026 is the complimentary training provided before every round, with the organizers stating that the training is otherwise worth ₹1,00,000.
Competition Format
IDC 2026 follows a hybrid, multi-stage format consisting of four stages.
Round 1 – Online MCQ Assessment
The competition begins with an online multiple-choice question (MCQ) assessment designed to test participants' knowledge and understanding.
Round 2 – Digital Design and Modelling
Participants move into practical design activities using the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.
This stage focuses on digital design and modelling skills.
Round 3 – Simulation, Validation and Presentation
Participants apply their design skills to areas including:
- Simulation
- Design validation
- Digital modelling
- Technical presentation
Grand Finale – AR/VR-Based Presentation
Finalists will participate in a live AR/VR-based presentation before an industry jury.
The Grand Finale is scheduled to be held at IIT Madras Research Park, Chennai, as announced by knowledge partner PALS.
Competition Domains
IDC 2026 features four competition categories:
1. Industrial Equipment
Participants can explore design and engineering solutions related to industrial equipment and systems.
2. New Energy for Data Centres
This category focuses on innovative solutions connected with new energy technologies for data centres.
3. eVTOL / Drones
Participants can develop ideas and designs related to electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) systems and drones.
4. Last-Mile Mobility
This category focuses on solutions for last-mile transportation and mobility, encouraging participants to explore innovative approaches to future mobility.
Who Can Participate?
The competition is open to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students from relevant engineering and design disciplines.

Participants can register individually or as part of a team.
Prizes
IDC 2026 offers a total cash prize pool of ₹3.6 lakh+ across the four competition categories.
