“Visions / Solutions for a sustainable tomorrow”: International online competition
Scholastic World20:04art contest, college, contests, general, international, national, project, School

Visions/SolutionsFrom a scientific point of view, one thing is certain: the climate is changing, and this is a result of human activity. But what can we do? This online competition offers you the chance to develop and contribute your own ideas.
Every single day, we are confronted with pictures of a fast-approaching climate catastrophe in the media. This is important, as we should all be made aware of the consequences which have already occurred. We should also take note of the possible consequences which may still arise if we do not change our way of thinking and acting as quickly and as sustainably as possible. But always having these negative consequences in mind can also paralyse us.
We therefore need to find a positive outlook for a different future. A sustainable way of life offers a wealth of opportunities, not only in ecological and economic terms, but also socially and culturally. In order to achieve sustainability in a comprehensive way, it is necessary to test new forms of coexistence together and redefine our relationship to the natural world. This requires visionary concepts of what a sustainable society and a sparing use of resources may look like. In turn, these visions must be combined with practical solutions for very specific problems with regard to the climate and environment.
Categories
You can enter in either the VISIONS category with your artistic, creative or simply well thought-out visions of a sustainable society, or in the SOLUTIONS category with your specific proposals for solutions to sustainability-relevant problems.
Eligibility
Open to all.
Both individuals and teams can enter the competition. There are no costs to enter the competition; entry is free.
Last Date
The closing date for submissions in both categories is 15 May 2020 at 23:59 CEST (cut-off date).
Prizes
A total of three entries in each of the two categories will be awarded the following prize money:
1st place: 2,000 Euros
2nd place: 1,500 Euros
3rd place: 1,000 Euros
Winners will be notified of their prize by email. Participants whose entries could not be considered for a prize will also be notified by us shortly afterwards. The awards ceremony will take place in public as part of an event organised by Die Junge Akademie.
