Dr. Pradeep P. Thevannoor Innovation Awards (PPTIA) instituted in year 2015 by SCMS School of Engineering and Technology, Kerala, India is a global event held annually with an aim to identify, recognize and celebrate innovative ideas and applications to tackle issues and challenges faced by society.
The competition is organised in association with Vodafone and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University (KTU) with technical support from Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) of SCMS School of Engineering and Technology (SSET), Karukutty, Ernakulam, Kerala, KSIDC, Kerala StartUp Mission and ICT Academy..
Competition will be conducted in the categories- School Level and College Level. Students from all over the globe are invited to participate.
Awards And Prizes
PPTIA 2019 is open to both National and International participants. Applications for all types of innovative ideas, products, processes or services, technological or otherwise with a strong social impact are invited.
First and second place winners will be awarded prizes in both school and college level. In addition to this, there will be one Special Award for Indian Women Innovators.
College Level
The prize money for the college level is:
Winner : Rs. 1 Lakh / US $ 1500
Runner-up : Rs. 50,000 / US $ 750
School Level
The prize money for the school level is:
Winner : Rs. 50,000 / US $ 750
Runner-up: Rs. 25,000 / US $ 375
Special award for Women Innovators
The prize money for the special award is:
Winner : Rs. 10,000 / US $ 143
Additional Prizes worth Rs 10,000 ($ 143) each for winners of the following titles

- The Best Business Model
- The Best Algorithm

16th and 17th November 2019 Grand Finale Exhibition, Jury Evaluation and Award Ceremony
Competition will be conducted in the categories- School Level and College Level. Students from all over the globe are invited to participate.
Participation is free of cost. International participants will be accommodated in our academic hostels with free boarding and lodging. Local transport and sightseeing arrangements will also be provided free of cost during the days of participation for international participants.
Projects done as part of curriculum and those presented elsewhere cannot be submitted.
Interested participants should provide a summary of their innovative idea which can be commercialized.
Based on the feasibility, novelty and social relevance, 15 finalists from College category and 20 finalists from School Category will be selected by an expert panel through several rounds of scrutiny.
