About the Competition

Landscape photography is more than documenting scenery—it is about storytelling through terrain, light, and time. EarthScapes encourages photographers to explore how the sun, seasons, geography, and human presence shape the land. Every landscape is a subject waiting to be photographed, and EarthScapes provides the platform to showcase that vision to a global audience.

Realistic as well as abstract compositions are welcome.

Participants may submit photographs from any of the following sub-themes:

Joy of Reading Photo Contest: Capture the Power of Books at the Pune Book Festival 2025


The National Book Trust, India, has announced the Joy of Reading Photo Contest, a one-of-its-kind national initiative celebrating the deep and universal love for reading. Launched as part of the Pune Book Festival, scheduled from 13 to 21 December 2025, this contest invites photography enthusiasts from across the country to portray the essence and impact of reading through powerful visual storytelling. 

This event aims to highlight how books enrich lives, spark imagination, nurture ideas, and strengthen the connection between readers and the world around them. Participants are encouraged to capture candid, creative moments that reflect the transformative power of reading.

A Celebration of Creativity and Culture

Winning entries will receive more than appreciation. The selected photographs will be displayed on a large wall at Fergusson College Grounds from 18 to 21 December 2025 during the festival. They will also be showcased at the New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) 2026 and published in a special Coffee Table Book by NBT-India, paying tribute to the culture of reading in India. 

This initiative is designed not just as a competition but as a celebration of creativity, resilience, and the timeless joy of reading.

Who Can Participate

The contest is open to all citizens of India, regardless of age, and welcomes submissions from individuals passionate about photography and the world of books. There is no entry fee, and each participant may submit up to four photographs.

Theme and Photo Guidelines
The theme of the contest is "Joy of Reading", and only photographs that reflect this theme will be considered. All photos must be taken during the Pune Book Festival, ensuring authenticity and context. 

Participants must submit high-resolution digital files along with the RAW files, and may also opt to send hard copies. Basic editing is allowed, but excessive manipulation or AI-generated images will lead to disqualification. 

Creativity, originality, composition, aesthetics, and visual appeal will be key evaluation criteria.

Prizes and Recognition

Winners will receive certificates and cash prizes, with the following awards on offer:

First Prize: INR 31,000

Second Prize: INR 21,000

Third Prize: INR 15,000

Consolation Prizes: INR 10,000 each for two winners 

Beyond monetary rewards, winners gain national visibility through exhibitions and publication.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, is celebrating World Heritage Week 2025 from 19th Nov to 25th November, as every year. As part of the celebrations, ASI in collaboration with MyGov invites citizens to participate in a National Photography Contest and encourage them to showcase India’s cultural heritage.

Participation Guidelines
1. Each participant is permitted only one entry per theme.
2. File format should be Jpeg
3. Resolution should be minimum 300 DPI. Sharp, clear and high resolution images.
4. Basic color correction and cropping are permissible
5. AI-generated, stock, watermarked, or heavily edited images are not allowed.

Guidelines for Clicking Pictures at ASI Monuments
1. Use of Tripods and any type of lighting equipment, without the site permission, is strictly prohibited at ASI-protected monuments.
2. Participants can click photographs only with handheld cameras and mobile phones.

Organised by Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Imagery Awards is a global photography competition designed to inspire mobile-photography enthusiasts to capture unique and powerful visuals using Xiaomi/Redmi devices. You can submit entries via three channels:

Submission requirements include:

  • All entries must be taken exclusively using Xiaomi or Redmi mobile phones

  • Entries must include valid EXIF information. 

  • File size must be between 300 KB and 50 MB

  • The entrant must hold all copyrights to the image, and the image must not include people unless portrait rights are secured. 

  • AI-generated content is not permitted.
