FIP Indian Photographer of the Year – 2024

The prestigious “FIP Photographer of the Year” Contest is back for its 8th edition! Organized by the Federation of Indian Photography, this annual competition celebrates the best in photography across India. With three online contests throughout the year, participants compete for the coveted title of “FIP Indian Photographer of the Year” awarded at the year’s end.

Conditions of Entry

  1. Eligibility

    • Open to anyone residing in India.

    • Entries may be rejected if they do not adhere to contest rules.

    • FIP office bearers, WC committee members, and contest handlers are not eligible.

    • Participants may enter all three contests separately.

    • The jury’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entertained.

    • FIP reserves the right to amend rules for smooth contest conduct.

  2. Image Creation and Reproduction

    • Entries must originate as photographs by the entrant, either on photographic emulsion or digitally acquired.

    • Final submissions must be electronic files.

    • By submitting, entrants certify the work as their own and grant sponsors the right to reproduce the work for contest-related purposes.

    • Major computer-generated graphics are not permitted.

  3. Copyright

    • Copyright remains with the author.

    • The contest assumes no liability for misuse of copyright.

  4. Submission of Entry

    • Entrants must submit a series of five story-based digital images with coherence on any subject matter.

    • Submissions must be either in Monochrome or Colour (not a mix of both).

    • Include a “Statement of Intent” (max 50 words) explaining the thought process and objective of the portfolio. Do not include personal details or technical specifics in the statement.

    • All images must adhere to the following specifications:

      • Format: JPEG

      • Colour Profile: RGB/sRGB

      • Dimensions: Max 1920 pixels horizontal, Max 1080 pixels vertical, at 300 dpi

      • File Size: Max 2 MB

  5. Entry Fee

    • ₹300.00 for FIP Members

    • ₹500.00 for Non-FIP Members (per contest)

How to Participate

  • Prepare your story-based portfolio of five digital images.

  • Write a concise “Statement of Intent” explaining your creative vision.

  • Submit your entries through the official FIP platform.

  • Pay the applicable entry fee.
