Article Writing Competition on Road Safety

Every year, more than 1,37,000 people die in India as a result of traffic accidents. In 2016, there were over 413 traffic accidents every day in India, resulting in over 1000 deaths. These figures only serve to highlight the significance of road safety measures in our daily lives.
Journalists, even as individuals, have enormous power to facilitate change because they shape public discourse. To honor this change-making capacity, Indian Road Safety Campaign, with the support of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways extends an invitation to an Article writing competition on road safety in Indian regional languages (Bengali, Marathi, Urdu, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Hindi and Oriya).

Objective
The competition is introduced to recognize writers/columnists who have continued to work on the issue of road safety in India and who have brought important stories to the forefront. Furthermore, the activity is being conducted with hopes that the attendees will reflect on contemporary societal concerns concerning road safety and acquaint themselves in order to become better informed and proactive road safety warriors.

Lex Repository is proud to announce Article Writing Competition, in the interest of proud Writers on the occasion of Independence Day 2021.

ABOUT 74TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

Independence Day is celebrated annually on 15 August as a national holiday in India commemorating the nation’s independence from the United Kingdom on 15 August 1947, the day when the provisions of the 1947 Indian Independence Act, which transferred legislative sovereignty to the Indian Constituent Assembly, came into effect.

India retained King George VI as head of state until its transition to a full republic, when the nation adopted the Constitution of India on 26 January 1950 (celebrated as Indian Republic Day) and replaced the dominion prefix, Dominion of India, with the enactment of the sovereign law Constitution of India.

India attained independence following the Independence Movement noted for largely non-violent resistance and civil disobedience.

Lex Repository Online Article Writing Competition

The Indian Constitution is the world’s longest written constitution which provides an excellent framework for governing the world’s largest democracy. It nurtures the aspirations of its citizens and is a true living Constitution in as much as it gives the widest possible amplitude for the realization of both individual liberties and desires and at the same time enforces the need for collective growth and development. It is the longest written constitution of the world. B.R. Ambedkar, chairman of the drafting committee, is widely considered to be its chief architect.
Coming from diverse backgrounds and different presuppositions, around three hundred men and women assembled in the winter of 1946 to form themselves into a Constituent Assembly in order to engage in one of the most extensive and extraordinary exercises in human history i.e. drafting of the Constitution of India. Much like the country and its people, the Constitution has survived and thrived. After a lot of hardwork and under the Chairmanship of Dr B R Ambedkar our constitution was enacted. 26 January was as the day to declare India as the Sovereign Republic.
Towards this end, Lex Repository is organizing an all India Essay Writing Competition on the below mentioned themes.
