Shaastra Juniors: Technical Festival and Competitions for Students

Shaastra is the annual technical festival of IIT Madras. It holds the honour of being the biggest student-run annual fest in Asia with an ISO 9001:2015 certification. The Shaastra team embarks upon an excursion each year, to ensure that what started off as a technical fest, evolves to include a myriad of domains of Science and Technology.


This year Shaastra is back again with the second edition of Shaastra Juniors, a completely online three-day technical festival especially aimed at spreading technical awareness among school students. A fun-filled weekend of October packed with events, shows, lectures, and workshops is sure to have each and every student yearning for more.

Shaastra Juniors will be conducted online so that students can participate from the comfort of their homes. Scheduled to happen from 24th- 26th September and 1st - 3rd October, Shaastra Juniors will be awarding exciting prizes, special trophies and other cool goodies for the best school and excellent students. Each school will compete against one another in order to win the grand Shaastra Juniors Championship. The points will be awarded based on student participation and winnings which will be detailed in the main brochure.

ATL Space Challenge 2021


Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog in collaboration with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is launching the ATL Space Challenge 2021.

The ATL Space Challenge 2021 aligns with the World Space Week 2021 declared by the United Nations General Assembly, and is celebrated from the 4 to 10 October each year at the international level, to celebrate the contributions of space science and technology.

The Objective of the challenge is to enable young innovators of schools across the country to learn and engage in creating new, efficient and innovative solutions for specific, real-world challenges in the Space sector and develop solutions which addresses the key problem areas of the challenge.

The Top teams shall be recognized with interesting opportunities and prizes at the conclusion of the Challenge

RULES & REGULATIONS
1 COVID -19 RELATED MOTION PICTURE
Individual event
Participants can send a motion picture of maximum 1 minute duration
Theme must be related to Covid -19

2 CREATIVE TROLL
Troll cannot include the aspects related to personal harassment/sexual content/anti national feeling etc.
Still picture format-JPG format.
Individual event, one person can send one entry only.

3 POSTER MAKING
Poster should be in A3 size scanned by mobile without filter.
Individual event.
Participants can use any medium (poster/water color/Pencil/Sketch/Charcoal. Etc.)
Theme will be provided before the event.

4 PHOTOGRAPHY
Photo manipulated not allowed.
A participant can send maximum 3 photos.
Photo must be in JPEG format
There must be a unique title and description for photos.
Theme will be provided.

5 Painting
Painting should be in A4 size scanned by mobile without filter.
Individual event.
Participants can use (poster/water color)
Theme will be provided before the event.

6 Instrument Solo
Individual event.
Participant need to send video of 4 minutes duration.
Only one instrument allowed

7 Solo Song
In smule only.
4 minute duration.

8 Duet Song (Smule)
4 minutes only.

9 Dance solo
5 minutes video.

10 Dance duet
5 minutes video.

11 Debate
Live event.
Individual event.
Topic will be provided prior to event.

12 Idea Pitching
Explained on the day of event.

13 General Quiz
Explained on the day of event.

14 Crack the Code
Explained on the day of event.

15 Hobby Circuit
Explained on the day of event.

16 Technical Game
Explained on the day of event.

17 Talent Search
Still project completion.
Team of 5 participants.

18 Origami
Individual event.
Participants can use any size paper.
Participants are not allowed to Stick/Glue or Tape the sheet.
Time-lapse / Video recording of making ORIGAMI Should be attached.
Theme will be provided before the event.

19 LOGO MAKING
Individual event.
Participants are allowed to design logo in the given dimension using any shape dimension. .( 10cm x 10cm Square).
Describe about the logo with max 100 words.
Theme will be provided before the event.
