SASMO (Singapore & Asian Schools Math Olympiad)

Mathematics is not just about solving equations — it is about developing logical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. The Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO) 2026 offers students an excellent opportunity to challenge themselves in one of Asia’s most respected mathematics competitions.

Created in 2006, SASMO has grown tremendously over the years. From just 155 local participants in its first edition, the Olympiad expanded to more than 90,000 participants from 42 countries in SASMO 2025. Over 1,000 schools from Singapore and across Asia participated last year, making SASMO one of the largest international math contests in the region.

🌟 SASMO 2026 – A Global Platform for Young Mathematical Talent

In India alone, more than 6,500 students from 100+ schools participated in SASMO 2025 and earned internationally recognized awards. For SASMO 2026, participation is expected to cross 10,000 students nationwide, giving even more young learners the chance to compete on a global stage.

SASMO aims to identify and nurture mathematical talent by encouraging students to think beyond standard classroom methods. The contest papers are carefully designed by the SASMO Team and Advisory Council to include both school mathematics and Olympiad-style higher-order thinking problems.

Participation helps students:

  • Improve school mathematics performance
  • Develop Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)
