What is Wiki Loves Earth?
Wiki Loves Earth (WLE) is an international photography competition that celebrates the stunning natural heritage across the globe by encouraging people to capture images of protected natural sites and share them freely on Wikimedia Commons. These images are then used to illustrate articles on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects.

Explore the list of recognized natural heritage sites in India. There's likely one near you!
Step 2:
📷 Take a Photo
Capture high-quality images of these protected areas — national parks, nature reserves, landscapes, flora, fauna, etc.
Step 3:
⬆️ Upload to Wikimedia Commons
Make sure:
The photo is your own original work
It’s uploaded within June–July 2025
You add proper captions and categories
You license it under CC BY-SA
