Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM)

It all starts with the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) 2025! Here’s your complete guide to important dates, enrollment procedures, eligibility, and fees.

Participating in IOQM 2025 is the first step towards becoming an official member of the Indian team for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 2026 and the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) 2027. The IMO and EGMO bring together students with exceptional mathematical ability and a deep passion for the subject from around the world, competing at the highest level in a spirit of friendly challenge and collaboration.

IOQM is the only recognized official contest that leads to participation in the IMO https://www.imo-official.org/ and EGMO https://www.egmo.org/

How to Enroll

KV and JNV Schools

  • Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) students must enroll through their school.

  • Schools can register students through their centre login starting 09 June 2025 (Monday).

Other Schools

  • Students from other schools can enroll through:

    • Their own school

    • A nearby neighbourhood school

    • Directly through the online portal

Online Enrollment

  • The online portal for Individual Enrollment opens on 30 June 2025 and closes on 25 July 2025.

  • Students studying outside India must register online and come to India to write the exam.

Eligibility Criteria

To appear for IOQM 2025:

1️⃣ Age & Class:

  • Students must be born between 1 August 2006 and 31 July 2013.

  • Must be studying in Class 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12.

  • Students born on or after 1 August 2013 are not eligible.

2️⃣ Nationality:

  • Must be eligible to hold an Indian passport.

  • OCI cardholders can participate but cannot represent India in IMO/EGMO/APMO due to a court order. They can, however, attend training camps and earlier stages.

3️⃣ Residency:

  • Must be residing and studying in India since 30 October 2023 or earlier, OR

  • Must be studying in an Indian school system since 30 October 2023 (even if abroad). Such students must come to India for the exam.

4️⃣ Academic Status:

  • Must not have qualified for Class 12 board exam before 30 October 2025.

  • Must not have started university studies before 1 June 2026.

5️⃣ Direct INMO 2026 Eligibility:

  • INMO 2025 awardees can write INMO 2026 directly (if they meet the age and university criteria).

6️⃣ International Eligibility:
