In celebration of World Photography Day on 19 August, the British Council is thrilled to announce its exclusive Photography Competition for young adults across Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata. This year’s powerful theme, "Emotion in Focus – Capturing the Moment," is an invitation to explore the rich spectrum of human emotions through the lens.

Whether it’s a candid smile, a quiet tear, a look of wonder, or a moment of serenity—participants are encouraged to freeze these genuine emotions in a single compelling frame. Let your photograph tell a story that words can’t express.

🏆 Competition Details

• Open to: Young adults in Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata

• Theme: Emotion in Focus – Capturing the Moment

• Registration: Free & mandatory [Registration link available on the official British Council website]

• Entry Limit: One photograph per participant

• Submission Includes:

  • A hard copy of your photograph (choose from: 5x7", 8x8", or 10x12")

  • A brief note explaining the photograph’s significance

  • Completed submission form and consent form

  • A copy of a valid photo ID

• Last date to submit entries: 13 August 2025, 11:59 p.m. IST

• Photograph Exhibition: 14 August 2025 at all British Council libraries

• Winners Announcement: 19 August 2025, on World Photography Day

✉️ Submission Guidelines

• Only hard copy photographs will be accepted.

• No digital filters, alterations, or AI enhancements permitted.

• Submissions with obscenity or copyrighted material will be disqualified.

• Label the envelope: ‘British Council Photography Competition’

• Deliver sealed envelope to the respective location:

📌 Terms & Conditions (Highlights)

• No online entries will be accepted.

• All decisions made by the British Council are final.

• Winners must collect their prize in person. It is non-transferable.

• If the winner does not respond to the email notification within 3 business days, a new winner will be chosen.
