VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is an initiative of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), in collaboration with National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an institution under the Ministry of Education, Government of India and National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. VVM is a national program for popularizing science among school students of standard VI to XI, conceptualised to identify bright minds with a scientific aptitude from the student community.

VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN (VVM) is a uniquely designed competitive examination that aims to provide a platform for inculcating and generating interest in pure science and mentoring students to take up careers based on the Sciences.

Registered students will undergo a multi-level testing and successful students will get a chance to undertake study tours and interactions with renowned scientists of India.


Structure of VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN

Students participating in VVM shall undergo the following multi-level testing procedures:
  • Objective type question answering.
  • Comprehensive writing.
  • Presentation and Group discussion.
  • Role play & Practical examination.
  • Methods of Source.
The program also includes organising visits to reputed national science laboratories and centres and interaction with renowned scientists of the nation for students who clear the various tests. The VVM will identify Vigyan Jigyasu (विज्ञानं जिज्ञासु, Keen Knowledge Seeker of Science) at national-level.

SCHOOL-LEVEL VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN EXAMINATION (JUNIOR AND SENIOR):

There will be only one examination of 2 hours at school level with 100 multiple choice questions each weighted for 1 mark. The examination will be conducted for the Junior Group (class VI to VIII) and for the Senior Group (class IX to XI).

Evaluation of student will be based on their individual performance at every level. The examination will be conducted in English and Hindi along with major regional languages (which depends upon the number of applicants opting for particular regional language).

Top 3 Rankers per class will be SCHOOL winners (i.e. 18 students from each School). Minimum of 10 students per class must be registered from school.

Top 3 Rankers per class will be district winners (i.e. 18 students from each district). [All the schools from that district will be part of evaluation].

Top 20 rankers from each class from a state will qualify to participate in the state level camp

Top 3 Rankers per class will be State winner (i.e. 18 students per state).

LEVEL-IV
NATIONAL LEVEL
Top 2 winners at the state level, from each state, will qualify to participate in National camp.

Top 3 Rankers per class will be National winners i.e. Himalayans, (i.e. 18 students at national level).

Top 3 Rankers per class, from a zone, will be zonal winners in addition to National winners. (i.e. 18 students per zone).

o     Cash prize Rs. 25,000, Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd rankers per class 
o     Cash prize Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 2,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranker per class in each zone 
STATE LEVEL CAMP (SLC):

Top 20 rankers from each class for every state will be identified to participate in the one or two days State Level Camp (SLC). The camp will be organised anywhere within the state.

State Level Camp will consist of Application Orientated Multiple Choice Questions, Hands-On Activities, Observation and Analysis, Situational Problem Solving Ability and a series of other activities. States will be clubbed according to number of Students appeared for the examination with the consideration of their geographical and cultural resemblance and convenience for the students.

Selected students will have to attend the State Level Camp with their own travel expenses. No travel support for this purpose will be provided. The venue and other details will be informed to all selected students by the respective state coordinator(s).

NATIONAL CAMP (NC):

The top two students from each class i.e. total 12 students from each state will be invited to a two-day national-level camp. National Camp (NC) will comprise Presentations, Activities to test Scientific Understanding, Innovation, Creativity, Out of Box Thinking and Assessment of Leadership Quality.

Selected students will have to attend the National Camp with their own travel expenses. No travel support for this purpose will be provided. Boarding and Lodging arrangements will be done by the organisers. The venue and other details will be informed to all the students selected for participation in National Camp by the respective state coordinator(s).

VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN (VVM) REGISTRATION:

Registration for Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2023-24 will be available only through Online Registration which can be done through the website www.vvm.org.in.

Eligibility Students from classes VI to XI studying under CBSE,ICSE, and State Boards
Language English, Hindi and 9 major regional languages
