Ganga Quest is a national bilingual (Hindi and English) online quiz on Ganga organized by TREE Craze Foundation (TCF), a not for profit organization committed to Ganga, Rivers, and Environment and National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), an authority under Government of India which implements the ‘Namami Gange’ programme and, Wildlife Institute of India (WII), a premier internationally acclaimed institute on wildlife research and management. It is sponsored by VA Tech Wabag, an Indian multinational company, pioneering in sustainable water solutions.
The Ganga Quest is open to any one above 10 years of age. But the difficulty level will vary according to age.
Apart from engaging and creating awareness and knowledge among participants, Ganga Quest initiative aims at analyzing and evaluating the nature of participation and status of awareness among the participants. The targeted objectives are; Knowledge Building, Awareness, Orientation, Knowledge Gap Assessment, and Baseline Determination. Its ultimate aim is to increase the public participation for ‘Namami Gange’ programme and to enhance ownership of children and youth for rivers and Ganga. Anyone above 10 years of age can participate in the quiz!
The Ganga Quest will be conducted in three rounds
Round 1 is the qualifying round. There will be 10 question which you will have answer and there is no right or wrong answer in this round. Once you complete it you can participate in the Round II
You should give your honest opinion during this round.
Round II is also a qualifying round.Here also you will have attempt all the 10 questions. You can attempt this round as many times as you like. The time you take to complete the round does not matter in announcing the winner. You can learn many things in this round. Better attempt it multiple times to improve your knowledge and understanding of the topic.
Round III – In this final round, you will be only one chance to attempt. The accuracy or the answer and the time taken to answer counts in deciding the winner. You will have to choose 2 out of the 8 given themes.
Questions will be asked only from the two themes chosen. Any attempt to use Google or other search engines to answer the question will increase the time taken and hence would reduce your chances to be a winner. At the end of the quiz, your performance will be displayed on the screen along with the average time taken by other participants.
