Call for Entries: 2025 APEC K-Culture × AI Video Global Contest

The 2025 APEC K-Culture × AI Video Global Contest invites creators from around the world to submit innovative video projects that combine the values of APEC with the richness of Korean culture. This global initiative seeks to inspire fresh perspectives on sustainability while showcasing the creative potential of artificial intelligence in video production.

Contest Theme

“Creating a sustainable tomorrow through a fresh perspective on Korean culture”

Entries should reinterpret the core values of APEC — Connect, Innovate, Prosper — in relation to elements of Korea’s unique cultural heritage. Examples of inspiration include:

• Traditional legends and historical narratives of the Silla Dynasty

• Cultural heritage sites of Gyeongju

• Hangeul (the Korean alphabet)

• Traditional folk games, customs, and more

Contest Categories

Participants may submit under one of the following two categories:

1. Video Content (e.g., media art)

   • Duration: Minimum 2 minutes, maximum 5 minutes

2. K-POP Style Music Video

   • Duration: Minimum 1 minute 30 seconds, maximum 3 minutes

   • Only original music or K-POP style music for which the participant holds full copyright is allowed

Eligibility

• Open to all creators aged 18 or older worldwide

• Submissions may be individual or team-based (up to four members, including the leader)

• For team submissions, all rights to the work must be collectively held by the team

Application Requirements

• Entries must reflect both the contest theme and contest details

• Meaningful use of AI is mandatory, with supporting proof submitted

• Video specifications:

  • Format: MP4

  • Resolution: Full HD (1920×1080) or higher

  • Aspect ratio: 16:10

Restrictions & Conditions

• Only one submission per participant/team (no multiple categories or teams)

• Entries that have previously won awards in other contests are ineligible

• Content violating public decency or social norms will be disqualified

• Participants are responsible for copyright compliance; disputes may result in retroactive disqualification

• Total Prize Pool: KRW 60,000,000

• Total Winners: 16 entries selected for awards

• Benefits include international recognition and visibility through APEC cultural initiatives

Application & Submission

• Submission Period: September 1 (Mon) – September 22 (Mon), 2025, until 11:00 AM (KST)

• Required Materials:

  • Contest Application Form

  • Video Proposal

  • Final Video (main content)

  • Supporting documents as required

Submissions outside the designated period will not be accepted. Participants are advised to adhere strictly to the deadline.
