Nritya is an annual dance competition organised by the Art Journal Foundation (AJF) that aims at nurturing creativity, expression, and enthusiasm among young scholars. More than just a competition, Nritya is a stage for students to express ideas, emotions, and stories through the powerful medium of dance.
The Art Journal Foundation, an initiative of Elevating Arts Private Limited, is committed to supporting the process, practice, and education in Arts and Culture. By fostering platforms like Nritya, AJF encourages creativity, critical investigations, and explorations, while aspiring to become a premier destination for young artists to immerse themselves in their craft and develop their skills.
Theme for 2025: Disconnected in a Connected World
In today’s world, we appear more connected than ever through phones, social media, and technology. Yet, many individuals feel isolated, unheard, or unseen.
This year’s theme challenges participants to explore this paradox through dance.
-
What does it mean to be connected but feel disconnected?
-
Is it the silence behind constant digital noise?
-
Is it about being lost in screens while missing real connections?
-
Or is it about finding new ways to connect meaningfully?
Participants are invited to choreograph and present a solo dance performance that expresses this emotional contrast. Use movement, rhythm, and expression to illustrate how we search for genuine connections in a world dominated by virtual links.
