Wildlife Travelogue Writing Contest – 2023

Kerala Forest Department is organising Wildlife Travelogue Writing Contest 2023 in connection with Wildlife Week Celebrations 2023





Eligibility: This Contest is open to any Indian citizen irrespective of their age. Employees and associates of Kerala Forest Department (KFD) which includes the staff of KFD and its subsidiaries and affiliates and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, siblings, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) are not eligible to participate in the Contest. 
Contest Period: Entries for the Wildlife Travelogue Writing Contest 2023will be accepted from Tuesday, September 20, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. IST to Wednesday, September 30, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. IST. Late entries will be summarily rejected. 

How to participate: 
There is no entry fee for the contest. The contestant shall participate by registering in the prescribed Registration Form duly filled along with the entry and sent to the email ID wlw.travelogue2023@gmail.com during the Contest Period. The prescribed format of the Registration Form can be downloaded from the website of the KFD www.forest.kerala.gov.in. A copy of the identity card of the contestant can also be attached along with the Registration Form. The entry should meet all the specifications as mentioned in Clause 7 (Sl.No. 7) below. Entries not in prescribed Registration Form and not in accordance to the prescribed specifications will be summarily rejected. If a contestant use any fraudulent method or otherwise attempt to circumvent any of the terms and conditions, the entry shall be disqualified. Decision of the KFD shall be final in this regard. 

Theme of the Contest:
The travelogue should be based on travel to any forest or wildlife area inside the State of Kerala. 6. Entry limits: Each participant will be allowed to submit only one entry in this contest. In case, the contestants choose to participate both in Malayalam and English, he can submit two entries, one for each language.  

Specifications of the Wildlife Travelogue Writing entry
 The travelogue shall be written either in English or Malayalam. 
 All entries shall be typed in font size 12 or more. 
 Hand written entries will not be selected for the contest. 
 The travelogue should have a minimum of 750 words and a maximum of 3000 words. 
 Plagiarism of any sort will be summarily disqualified. 
 The Travelogue can be submitted with or without photographs. 
 Travelogue should not be co-authored. 
 Entries which do not mention the source of pictures included in this travelogue and the exact destination of travel will be considered ineligible. 
 Unpublished entries only are accepted.  Entries shall be submitted only as e-mail attachments.  

Prizes: The First, Second and Third prize winners will be awarded a Cash Prize of Rs.7500, Rs.4500 and Rs.2500 respectively (subject to pending Govt. Orders) along with a Certificate of Recognition. In addition, Cash prize of Rs.1000/- and Certificates of Merit will be awarded to ten entries as consolation prizes (subject to pending Govt. Orders)
