The TARTGET Painting Prize has announced the Target Painting Prize 2026, an international competition dedicated to celebrating contemporary painting and promoting artistic excellence on a global stage. Open to painters from every corner of the world, the competition offers artists the opportunity to gain international visibility and potentially see their work associated with the historic Ateneo de Madrid.
The entry deadline for the 2026 edition is 31 May 2026.
Global Platform for Contemporary Painters
The Target Painting Prize welcomes artists of all backgrounds and styles, with no limit on the number of works that may be submitted. Each artwork is treated as an independent registration, allowing participants to enter multiple pieces across different categories.
According to the organizers, artists may even receive multiple awards, either for a single artwork or for different pieces included in their submission portfolio.
For participants under 18 years of age, a signed authorization letter from legal guardians is required as part of the registration process.

The Young Artist category is specifically reserved for painters under the age of 25 as of 31 May 2026, meaning artists born on or after 31 May 2001 are eligible.
Registration Fees
The competition has structured entry fees based on the number of submitted works and categories:
- First work: €50
- Second work: €35
- Additional category registration for the same work: €35 per category
For the Young Artist category:
- First work: €35
- Additional works: €20 each

The Target Painting Prize describes itself as more than a traditional competition. The initiative aims to create a cultural platform connecting artists, collectors, galleries, institutions, and the public through contemporary painting.
