World Maths Championship (WMC)

The World Maths Championship (WMC) continues its mission of transforming young minds through engaging and inclusive mathematics competitions designed for students from Grades 1 to 8. Recognizing the diverse abilities and backgrounds of students across the globe, the WMC promotes conceptual thinking, confidence building, and a positive approach to mathematics.

A Platform for All Learners

The WMC is not just a competition—it is a global platform that cultivates a passion for mathematics and problem-solving. Through carefully curated challenges, students experience the thrill of discovery and the satisfaction of tackling real-world problems. The event encourages participation both individually and through schools, with a special provision that allows students to take part even if their school is not officially registered with the program.

Inclusive Format and Flexible Participation

The championship offers both online and offline (pen-and-paper) exam modes, with a strong emphasis on flexibility. Students can select their preferred examination date and start time within a 24-hour window, making it easier to fit into varied schedules across time zones and commitments. Each exam lasts 60 minutes.

Exam Dates:

  • 31st July 2025

  • 18th August 2025

Registration Deadlines:

  • For 31st July Exam: 27th July 2025

  • For 18th August Exam: 14th August 2025

Exam Fee: INR 500
Mode of Exam: Online (AI Proctored)
Duration: 60 Minutes
Eligibility: Students of Grades 1 to 8

Engaging and Thoughtful Assessments

To align with the WMC’s philosophy of conceptual learning, all exam content is based on the existing academic curriculum. There is no need for additional purchases or preparation beyond what students already study in school. The competition structure includes:

  • Grade 1 – 4: 35 Questions

  • Grade 5 – 8: 50 Questions

In addition to sample papers, WMC provides a free mock test accessible between 20th July 2025 at 00:01 AM and 17th August 2025 at 11:00 PM, giving students a realistic preview of the actual test experience.

Beyond the Competition

What sets the WMC apart is its broader vision. It is not only about testing knowledge but also about fostering a lifelong enthusiasm for mathematics. The championship community supports this through educational bootcamps, collaborative projects, and continuous learning opportunities that go well beyond the competition period.

Results of the championship are typically announced within three months after the final exam date, offering timely feedback to all participants.

The World Maths Championship is a celebration of young problem-solvers and creative thinkers. It is a unique opportunity for students to challenge themselves, gain recognition, and become part of a global movement that values intelligence, curiosity, and innovation. With its inclusive policies, flexible formats, and focus on core understanding, the WMC invites all aspiring mathematicians to take part in a journey that inspires confidence and transforms attitudes toward learning.
