The Toolip Art Gallery has announced the Toolip Art Contest 2026 – Painting Edition, an international competition inviting painters from around the world to showcase their work on a global platform.
The contest is open to artists of all ages and backgrounds, including emerging talents, professional painters, and creative collectives. This edition is dedicated exclusively to painting, welcoming works created in oil, acrylic, watercolor, digital painting, and mixed media.
Awards and Opportunities
The competition offers significant cash prizes for the top winners:
- 1st Place: €10,000
- 2nd Place: €5,000
- 3rd Place: €3,000
Thirty finalists will be selected for the final exhibition in Vienna and featured in the Toolip Art Gallery Collector’s Edition Book, which will be distributed to collectors, galleries, and art professionals.
Exhibition Details
The finalists’ exhibition will take place from:
12 September to 13 October 2026
The final winners will be announced during the exhibition opening on 12 September 2026.
Eligibility and Artwork Requirements
Only paintings are accepted for the competition.
Guidelines include:
- Maximum artwork size: 200 cm × 150 cm
- Submissions must include a high-quality image or video and a detailed description
- Artworks must be available for exhibition in Vienna
- Works must be ready to hang and available for sale
- Submitted works must remain the property of the artist

Special Clause for First Prize
The winning artwork receiving the €10,000 first prize will become part of the permanent collection of Toolip Art Gallery. The gallery will retain ownership and exhibition rights for future events and publications.
Additional Exposure for Participants
Even artists who are not selected as finalists will receive online visibility through the official contest website until the conclusion of the exhibition. Participants will also gain priority access to future opportunities and events organized by the gallery.
