The Knowledge & Awareness Mapping Platform (KAMP) is designed to unlock and nurture the scientific temperament and aptitude of students, helping them excel in their academic and professional journey. Through the National Assessment of Scientific Temperament & Aptitude (NASTA), KAMP provides a comprehensive assessment to identify students’ skills, strengths, and areas for improvement across a range of cognitive and problem-solving abilities.

What is NASTA?

NASTA is a well-structured assessment that evaluates students on eight unique parameters, offering a holistic view of their abilities. The test goes beyond basic academic knowledge to measure cognitive skills, problem-solving capabilities, critical thinking, and scientific knowledge, helping students develop essential skills for the future.

What Are the Skills Assessed in NASTA?

NASTA evaluates students' capabilities in three key areas: Knowing, Applying, and Reasoning. These areas are further divided into 8 sub-skills that assess everything from problem-solving to scientific knowledge. The test includes various types of questions, such as:

  • Problem-based figures

  • Series completion

  • Odd one out

  • Coding-decoding

  • Mirror images

  • Embedded figures

  • Symmetry

  • Alphabetical test questions

This variety ensures that students’ cognitive abilities and scientific aptitude are thoroughly assessed.

NASTA Assessment Structure & Syllabus

NASTA follows the updated syllabi of major educational boards, including:

  • CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education)

  • ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education)

  • State Boards

  • International Boards

The question papers are designed based on the complexity appropriate for each class, ensuring that the content is relevant and challenging for the students' respective educational levels.

Registration Process

Students can register for NASTA through their schools or individually, depending on the mode of participation.

School Registration

  • Schools can register on the KAMP portal. Once registered, schools receive login details for uploading student information.

  • Participation Fee: Rs. 400 per student (for self-financed schools).

  • Schools will upload students' details, and a KAMP Nodal Officer will assist with necessary training and support.

Individual Student Registration

Important Dates for NASTA

  • Mock Test: 18th November 2024 (for classes 3rd to 12th)

  • Last Date for Mock Test: 5th December 2024

  • Question Booklet and OMR (Offline Mode): 1 week before the assessment

  • Assessment Date: 7th December 2024

Awards & Recognition

NASTA offers multiple levels of awards and recognitions based on performance:

National Level Awards:

  • 1st Rank: Gold Medal + Certificate of Outstanding Performance

  • 2nd Rank: Silver Medal + Certificate of Outstanding Performance

  • 3rd Rank: Bronze Medal + Certificate of Outstanding Performance

State Level Awards:

  • 1st Rank: Gold Medal + Certificate of State Excellence

  • 2nd Rank: Silver Medal + Certificate of State Excellence

District Level Awards:

  • 1st Rank: District Level Award + Certificate of District Excellence

Class Level Awards:

  • Top 3 Scorers: Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals + Certificate of Class Excellence

Eligibility for Class Level Awards: A minimum of 20 students must participate from each class.

All students who participate in NASTA will receive an E-Participation Certificate, and KAMP Nodal Officers will be awarded Certificates and a Memento for their contribution to the program.

Additional Opportunities for Participants

  • Workshops: Engage in 24 online workshops and sessions every fortnight.

  • Excursions: Visit prestigious institutions like CSIR Labs, ISRO, and other research organizations.

  • Robotics and AI: Participate in the KAMP - Centre of Excellence (CoE) program, where schools can set up exclusive Robotics and AI Labs.
