10th International Cartoon and Film-Strip Contest

Green Cross Belarus, in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus and the Union of Teachers-Artists, is thrilled to announce the 10th International Cartoon and Film-Strip Contest as part of the "In My Homeland" project.

This contest invites young creators to explore the exciting world of stop-motion animation and film-strips, providing a platform to express their imagination and creativity.

Contest Themes

The 2025 contest has a FREE TOPIC, offering participants complete creative freedom to tell their stories through stop-motion or film-strip formats.

Participation Categories

Cartoon Contest

Eligibility:

  • Animation works created using stop-motion technology with any materials.
  • Works made with computer graphics are not accepted.

Technical Requirements:

  • Minimum resolution: 720x576 (4:3 aspect ratio) or 720x480 (16:9 aspect ratio).
  • Recommended codec: H.264.

Film-Strip Contest

Eligibility:

  • Works must contain 15-64 frames created using any technique (e.g., pictures, collage, applique, or dolls).
  • Computer graphics-based works are not accepted.

Technical Requirements:

  • Resolution: 1600x1200 (4:3 aspect ratio) or 1920x1080 (16:9 aspect ratio).
  • Text accompanying the frames must be placed in a separate area beneath each picture.
  • The completed work should be submitted as a single PDF file (preferred).

Who Can Participate?

  • Creative Teams: From art schools, art colleges, or art studios.
  • Family Groups: Families working together on the project.
  • Individual Participants: Young creators who complete the project independently.
  • Age Group: Participants aged 5-18 years.

General Conditions

  1. Originality: All works must be created in 2024 or 2025.
  2. Credits: Include:
    • Title of the work.
    • Name(s) of the author(s).
    • Materials used (e.g., music, film fragments, drawings).
    • Production place and year.
  3. Language: Works in foreign languages must include subtitles in Russian, Belarusian, or English.
  4. Submission Format:
    • Upload the work to a free file-sharing service (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox, Yandex Disk).
    • Provide the download link in the registration form.

Judging and Results

  • A panel of experts, including artists, teachers, and animation professionals, will evaluate the submissions in February 2025.
  • Winners and diploma recipients will be announced, and their works will be showcased at:
    • The International Conference of Artists-Teachers in Minsk.
    • The opening ceremony of the "In My Homeland" Exhibition in April 2025.
  • Winning entries will also be featured in the electronic gallery on the official website: www.children-art.org.
