VANDA INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE COMPETITION

Vanda is an International Science Competition held annually around the globe. It focuses on the student’s ability to think critically and creatively to pick out hidden information to aid them in solving the question.

About the Competition

VANDA is an annual International Science Competition designed for students from Grade 3 to Grade 11 (Primary 3 to Secondary 4). It follows the Singapore School Science Syllabus, emphasizing higher-order thinking skills to help participants perform better compared to pure-Olympiad-style exams.

The competition tests students’ scientific knowledge, reasoning, analytical skills, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. With a focus on creativity and exploration, participants are encouraged to think beyond the ordinary.

Test Format

• Section A: Questions 1 to 10

  • Correct Answer: +2 points

  • No Answer: 0 points

  • Wrong Answer: −1 point

• Section B: Questions 11 to 20

  • Correct Answer: +3 points

  • No Answer/Wrong Answer: 0 points

• Application Question Section:

  • Questions 21 to 23: +3 points for correct answers, 0 for wrong/no answers

  • Questions 24 to 25: +4 points for correct answers, 0 for wrong/no answers

All participants start with a 10-point bonus, and the perfect score is 77 points.

• Rs. 1200/- per participant

Awards

Participants stand a chance to win the following:

• Perfect Score Award: $100 cash prize for each perfect scorer (up to $5000 total; shared among more than 50 scorers if applicable)

• Gold Award: Top 8% of participants

• Silver Award: Next 12% of participants

• Bronze Award: Next 20% of participants

• Certificates: For all participants, with special certificates for the top 40% achievers
