Eat Right Photography Contest

The Eat Right India Photography Contest is an initiative of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) in collaboration with MyGov aimed at engaging citizens in promoting the message of safe, healthy, and sustainable food practices through the lens of photography. The contest seeks to capture real-life moments that reflect the spirit of the Eat Right India movement - celebrating hygiene, nutrition, and sustainability in everyday food culture. The shortlisted photographs will be featured in the FSSAI Digital Calendar 2026, serving as powerful visual stories that inspire people to “Eat Safe, Eat Healthy, and Eat Sustainable.


Gratification:
Total Number of Awards: 12
•3 First Prize winners, each receiving a cash award of ₹5,000 each.
•3 Second Prize winners, each receiving a cash amount of ₹4,000 each.
•3 Third Prize winners, each receiving a cash amount of ₹3,000 each.
•3 Consolation Prizes each receiving a cash amount of ₹1,000 each.
• The winning photographs will be featured in the FSSAI Digital Calendar 2026.• FSSAI will give certificate of appreciation to the winners.

Technical Parameters:
1. Each photograph must be accompanied by a caption or short description (2–3 lines) explaining its background or message.
2. Each participant may submit only one entry per theme.
3. Entries must be original and not published or submitted elsewhere.
4. AI-generated or excessively edited images will not be accepted.
5. No watermark, logo, or identifiable brand should appear on the photo.
6. Participants must ensure consent from any identifiable individuals in their photos
7. Only HD Quality high resolution pictures will be shortlisted

Themes for the Contest:
Participants will be invited to submit photographs (maximum one entry per theme) under the following five categories:
1. Healthy and Hygienic Street Food
Photographs depicting street food prepared and served in clean, safe, and hygienic conditions - for example, clean stalls showcasing hygienic food preparation, overall ambience of food stall.
2. Hygiene Heroes
Portraits or action shots of individuals such as chefs, vendors, or home cooks known for maintaining exemplary hygiene while preparing or handling food. The photo should capture them in their natural work environment, reflecting their commitment to cleanliness.
3. Stop Obesity
Images that inspire reduced oil consumption to fight obesity - such as traditional, oil-free cooking methods, roasting instead of frying, or use of fresh fruits and vegetables. The photograph should evoke a sense of narrative and inspiration, showing how small actions can lead to big steps in combating obesity.
4. Eat Right India
Photos that illustrate the spirit of the Eat Right India movement – (particularly including local and seasonal food/ balanced diets, and/or regional cuisines/ served in traditional ways)
5. Millets
Photographs that celebrate millets through farming, harvesting, winnowing, or preparation of millet or millet based dishes - showcasing both traditional and modern contexts.
