Are you passionate about nature and the environment? The 14th Annual Ocean Awareness Contest is your opportunity to turn that passion into creative expression. This global contest invites young people, ages 11-18, to explore their unique relationship with the natural world and become advocates for positive environmental change through art, writing, performance, film, and multimedia.
2025 Theme: Connections to Nature – Looking Inside, Going Outside
In this year's contest, the theme "Connections to Nature: Looking Inside, Going Outside" encourages participants to think deeply about their connection to the world around them. How does nature make you feel? What unique stories do you have about your relationship with the environment? Whether you're exploring the history of your land, taking action against climate change, or simply enjoying the peace of a local park, this contest invites you to express your personal connection to nature in a creative and meaningful way.
What is Your Connection to Nature?
Your connection to nature may manifest in a variety of ways, from memories passed down through generations, reflections on city life in a "Concrete Jungle," or through stories of Resilience and the bond between Healthy Environments and Healthy Humans. Dive into the sub-themes and find what resonates with you most. Then, share your connection with the world through your creative work.
