Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the SBI Youth for India Fellowship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

1) The candidate must have completed a Bachelor's degree before 1 October 2025.
2) The candidate must be an Indian citizen, a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan, or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
3) The candidate must be between 21 and 32 years of age on the day of commencement of the program, i.e., the candidate must have been born not earlier than 5th August 1993 and not later than 6th October 2004.

Note for OCI candidates: If you do not yet have an OCI card, we recommend starting the application process immediately as it may take 1-3 months.

The 2-Stage Application Process

  1. Stage 1: Registration & Online Assessment

    • Candidates must fill out an online registration form and complete the assessment, which includes essay-based responses. These essays provide a space to share your personal journey, reasons for joining the fellowship, and your vision for making an impact in rural India.
  2. Stage 2: Personal Interview

    • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview. The panel will assess the applicant’s personality, motivations, and suitability for the fellowship beyond academic qualifications.

Fellowship Support

Selected fellows will receive extensive support throughout their journey, including:

  • Monthly allowances:
    • ₹15,000 for living expenses.
    • ₹1,000 each for transport and project-related expenses.
  • Language support to help navigate local dialects.
  • Readjustment allowance of ₹70,000 upon successful completion of the program.
  • 3AC train fare coverage from home to the project site and for training sessions.
  • Health and personal accident insurance coverage.

Additional support includes assistance from local NGO staff in finding safe accommodation, guidance from the SBI Youth for India team, and mentorship from experienced professionals.

MCQ Assessment:

All registered teams will have to attempt the online quiz round. The average score of all the team members will be considered as the final score for the team.

It is mandatory for all team members to attempt the assessment.

Participants will answer 30 questions in 30 minutes.

The quiz will be based on general aptitude questions as well as specialization-specific questions.

Teams will advance to the next level based on their performance in this assessment.

Case Launch & Submission:

Shortlisted teams will be required to submit a 2-3 minute video pitch and a PPT with up to 7-8 slides (excluding cover slides). Annexures can be added to these slides.

Each team is required to pick only 1 problem statement.
