JEE Main Physics Syllabus
The syllabus contains two Sections – A and B. Section – A pertains to the Theory Part having 80% weightage, while Section – B contains Practical Component (Experimental Skills) having 20% weightage.
SECTION – A
UNIT 1: PHYSICS AND MEASUREMENT
Physics, technology and society, S I units, Fundamental and derived units. Least count, accuracy and precision of measuring instruments, Errors in measurement, Dimensions of Physical quantities, dimensional analysis and its applications.
UNIT 2: KINEMATICS
Frame of reference. Motion in a straight line: Position-time graph, speed and velocity. Uniform and non- uniform motion, average speed and instantaneous velocity Uniformly accelerated motion, velocity-time, position-time graphs, relations for uniformly accelerated motion. Scalars and Vectors, Vector addition and Subtraction, Zero Vector, Scalar and Vector products, Unit Vector, Resolution of a Vector. Relative Velocity, Motion in a plane, Projectile Motion, Uniform Circular Motion.
UNIT 3: LAWS OF MOTION
Force and Inertia, Newton’s First Law of motion; Momentum, Newton’s Second Law of motion; Impulse; Newton’s Third Law of motion. Law of conservation of linear momentum and its applications, Equilibrium of concurrent forces.
Static and Kinetic friction, laws of friction, rolling friction.
Dynamics of uniform circular motion: Centripetal force and its applications. 
UNIT 4: WORK, ENERGY AND POWER
Work done by a constant force and a variable force; kinetic and potential energies, workenergy theorem, power.
Potential energy of a spring, conservation of mechanical energy, conservative and nonconservative forces; Elastic and inelastic collisions in one and two dimensions.
UNIT 5: ROTATIONAL MOTION
Centre of mass of a two-particle system, Centre of mass of a rigid body; Basic concepts of rotational motion; moment of a force, torque, angular momentum, conservation of angular momentum and its applications; moment of inertia, radius of gyration. Values of moments of inertia for simple geometrical objects, parallel and perpendicular axes theorems and their applications. Rigid body rotation, equations of rotational motion.
UNIT 6: GRAVITATION
The universal law of gravitation. Acceleration due to gravity and its variation with altitude and depth. Kepler’s laws of planetary motion. Gravitational potential energy; gravitational potential. Escape velocity.
Orbital velocity of a satellite. Geo-stationary satellites.
UNIT 7: PROPERTIES OF SOLIDS AND LIQUIDS
Elastic behaviour, Stress-strain relationship, Hooke’s Law, Young’s modulus, bulk modulus, modulus of rigidity. Pressure due to a fluid column; Pascal’s law and its applications. Viscosity, Stokes’ law, terminal velocity, streamline and turbulent flow, Reynolds number. Bernoulli’s principle and its applications. Surface energy and surface tension, angle of contact,application of surface tension – drops, bubbles and capillary rise. Heat, temperature, thermal expansion; specific heat capacity, calorimetry; change of state, latent heat. Heat transfer-conduction, convection and radiation, Newton’s law of cooling.
UNIT 8: THERMODYNAMICS
Thermal equilibrium, zeroth law of thermodynamics, concept of temperature. Heat, work and internal energy. First law of thermodynamics. Second law of thermodynamics: reversible and irreversible processes. Carnot engine and its efficiency.
UNIT 9: KINETIC THEORY OF GASES
Equation of state of a perfect gas, work doneon compressing a gas.Kinetic theory of gases – assumptions, concept of pressure. Kinetic energy and temperature: rms speed of gas molecules; Degrees of freedom, Law of equipartition of energy,applications to specific heat capacities of gases; Mean free path, Avogadro’s number.
UNIT 10: OSCILLATIONS AND WAVES
Periodic motion – period, frequency, displacement as a function of time. Periodic functions. Simple harmonic motion (S.H.M.) and its equation; phase; oscillations of a spring -restoring force and force constant; energy in S.H.M. – kinetic and potential energies; Simple pendulum – derivation of expression for its time period; Free, forced and damped oscillations, resonance.
Wave motion. Longitudinal and transverse waves, speed of a wave. Displacement relation for a progressive wave. Principle of superposition of waves, reflection of waves, Standing waves in strings and organ pipes, fundamental mode and harmonics, Beats, Doppler effect in sound
UNIT 11: ELECTROSTATICS
Electric charges: Conservation of charge, Coulomb’s law-forces between two point charges, forces between 
Electric field: Electric field due to a point charge, Electric field lines, Electric dipole, Electric field due to a dipole, Torque on a dipole in a uniform electric field.
Electric flux, Gauss’s law and its applications to find field due to infinitely long uniformly charged straight wire, uniformly charged infinite plane sheet and uniformly charged thin spherical shell. Electric potential and its calculation for a point charge, electric dipole and system of charges; Equipotential surfaces, Electrical potential energy of a system of two point charges in an electrostatic field.
Conductors and insulators, Dielectrics and electric polarization, capacitor, combination of capacitors in series and in parallel, capacitance of a parallel plate capacitor with and without dielectric medium between the plates, Energy stored in a capacitor.
UNIT 12: CURRRENT ELECTRICITY
Electric current, Drift velocity, Ohm’s law, Electrical resistance, Resistances of different materials, V-I characteristics of Ohmic and nonohmic conductors, Electrical energy and power, Electrical resistivity, Colour code for resistors; Series and parallel combinations of resistors; Temperature dependence of resistance. Electric Cell and its Internal resistance, potential difference and emf of a cell, combination of cells in series and in parallel. Kirchhoff’s laws and their applications. Wheatstone bridge, Metre bridge. Potentiometer – principle and its applications.
UNIT 13: MAGNETIC EFFECTS OF CURRENT AND MAGNETISM
Biot – Savart law and its application to current carrying circular loop. Ampere’s law and its applications to infinitely long current carrying straight wire and solenoid. Force on a moving charge in uniform magnetic and electric fields. Cyclotron.
Force on a current-carrying conductor in a uniform magnetic field. Force between two parallel current- carrying conductors-definition of ampere. Torque experienced by a current loop in uniform magnetic field; Moving coil galvanometer, its current sensitivity and conversion to ammeter and voltmeter.
Current loop as a magnetic dipole and its magnetic dipole moment. Bar magnet as an equivalent solenoid, magnetic field lines; Earth’s magnetic field and magnetic elements. Para-, dia- and ferro- magnetic substances.
Magnetic susceptibility and permeability, Hysteresis, Electromagnets and permanent magnets
UNIT 14: ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION AND ALTERNATING CURRENTS
Electromagnetic induction; Faraday’s law, induced emf and current; Lenz’s Law, Eddy currents. Self and mutual inductance. Alternating currents, peak and rms value of alternating current/ voltage; reactance and impedance; LCR series circuit, resonance; Quality factor, power in AC circuits, wattless current. AC generator and transformer.
UNIT 15: ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES
Electromagnetic waves and their characteristics. Transverse nature of electromagnetic waves. Electromagnetic spectrum (radio waves, microwaves, infrared, visible, ultraviolet, Xrays, gamma rays).
Applications of e.m. waves.
 UNIT 16:OPTICS
Reflection and refraction of light at plane and spherical surfaces, mirror formula, Total internal reflection and its applications, Deviation and Dispersion of light by a prism, Lens Formula, Magnification, Power of a Lens, Combination of thin lenses in contact, Microscope and Astronomical Telescope (reflecting and refracting) and their magnifyingpowers.
Wave optics: wavefront and Huygens’ principle, Laws of reflection and refraction using Huygen’s principle. Interference, Young’s double slit experiment and expression for fringe width. Diffraction due to a single slit, width of central maximum. Resolving power of microscopes and astronomical telescopes, Polarisation, plane polarized light; Brewster’s law, uses of plane polarized light and Polaroids.
UNIT 17: DUAL NATURE OF MATTER ANDRADIATION

Dual nature of radiation. Photoelectric effect, Hertz and Lenard’s observations; Einstein’s photoelectric equation; particle nature of light. Matter waves-wave nature of particle, de Broglie relation. Davisson-Germer experiment.
UNIT 18: ATOMS AND NUCLEI
Alpha-particle scattering experiment; Rutherford’s model of atom; Bohr model, energy levels, hydrogen spectrum. Composition and size of nucleus, atomic masses, isotopes, isobars; isotones. Radioactivity- alpha, beta and gamma particles/rays and their properties; radioactive decay law. Mass-energy relation, mass defect; binding energy per nucleon and its variation with mass number, nuclear fission and fusion.
UNIT 19: ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Semiconductors; semiconductor diode: I-V characteristics in forward and reverse bias; diode as a rectifier; I- V characteristics of LED, photodiode, solar cell and Zener diode; Zener diode as a voltage regulator.  Junction transistor, transistor action, characteristics of a transistor; transistor as an amplifier (common emitter configuration) and oscillator. Logic gates (OR, AND, NOT, NAND and NOR). Transistor as a switch.
UNIT 20: COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS
Propagation of electromagnetic waves in the atmosphere; Sky and space wave propagation, Need for modulation, Amplitude and Frequency Modulation, Bandwidth of signals, Bandwidth of Transmission medium, Basic Elements of a Communication System (Block Diagram only).
SECTION –B
UNIT 21: EXPERIMENTAL SKILLS
Familiarity with the basic approach and observations of the experiments and activities:
. 1. Vernier callipers-its use to measure internal and external diameter and depth of a vessel.
2. Screw gauge-its use to determine thickness/diameter of t hin sheet/wire.
3. Simple Pendulum-dissipation of energy by plotting a graph between square of amplitude and time.
4. Metre Scale - mass of a given object by principle of moments.
5. Young's modulus of elasticity of the material of a metallic wire.
6. Surface tension of water by capillary rise and effect of detergents.
7. Co-efficient of Viscosity of a given viscous liquid by measuring terminal velocity of a given spherical body
8. Plotting a cooling curve for the relationship between the temperature of a hot body and time.
9. Speed of sound in air at room temperature using a resonance tube.
10. Specific heat capacity of a given (i) solid and (ii) liquid by method of mixtures.
11. Resistivity of the material of a given wire using met re bridge.
12. Resistance of a given wire using Ohm's law.
13. Potentiometer –
(i) Comparison of emf of two primary cells.
(ii) Determination of internal resistance of a cell.
14. Resistance and figure of merit of a galvanometer by half deflection method.
15. Focal length of:
(i)   Convex mirror
(ii) Concave mirror, and
(iii)   Convex lens using parallax method.
16. Plot of angle of deviation vs angle of incidence for a triangular prism.
17. Refractive index of a glass slab using a travelling microscope.
18. Characteristic curves of a p-n junction diode in forward and reverse bias.
19. Characteristic curves of a Zener diode and finding reverse break down voltage.
20. Characteristic curves of a transistor and finding current gain and voltage gain.
21. Identification of Diode, LED, Transistor, IC, Resistor, Capacitor from mixed collection of such items.
22. Using multimeter to:
(i) Identify base of a transistor
(ii) Distinguish between npn and pnp type transistor
(iii) See the unidirectional flow of current in case of a diode and an LED.
(iv) Check the correctness or otherwise of a given electronic component (diode, transistor or IC).

UNIT 8 : LIMIT, CONTINUITY AND DIFFERENTIABILITY:
Real – valued functions, algebra of functions, polynomials, rational, trigonometric, logarithmic and exponential functions, inverse functions. Graphs of simple functions. Limits, continuity and differentiability. Differentiation of the sum, difference, product and quotient of two functions. Differentiation of trigonometric, inverse trigonometric, logarithmic, exponential, composite and implicit functions; derivatives of order upto two. Rolle’s and Lagrange’s Mean Value Theorems. UNIT 9 : INTEGRAL CALCULUS:
Integral as an anti – derivative. Fundamental integrals involving algebraic, trigonometric, exponential and logarithmic functions. Integration by substitution, by parts and by partial fractions. Integration using trigonometric  identities.

Integral as limit of a sum. Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Properties of definite integrals. Evaluation of definite integrals, determining areas of the regions bounded by simple curves in standard form.
UNIT 10: DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS:
Ordinary differential equations, their order and degree. Formation of differential equations. Solution of differential equations by the method of separation of variables, solution of homogeneous and linear differential equations of the type:

UNIT 11: CO-ORDINATE GEOMETRY:
Cartesian system of rectangular co-ordinates 10 in a plane, distance formula, section formula, locus and its equation, translation of axes, slope of a line, parallel and perpendicular lines, intercepts of a line on the coordinate axes.
Straight lines
Various forms of equations of a line, intersection of lines, angles between two lines, conditions for concurrence of three lines, distance of a point from a line, equations of internal and external bisectors of angles between two lines, coordinates of centroid, orthocentre and circumcentre of a triangle, equation of family of lines passing through the point of intersection of two lines.

Circles, conic sections
Standard form of equation of a circle, general form of the equation of a circle, its radius and centre, equation of a circle when the end points of a diameter are given, points of intersection of a line and a circle with the centre at the origin and condition for a line to be tangent to a circle, equation of the tangent. Sections of cones, equations of conic sections (parabola, ellipse and hyperbola) in standard forms, condition for y = mx + c to be a tangent and point (s) of tangency.
UNIT 12: THREE DIMENSIONAL GEOMETRY:
Coordinates of a point in space, distance between two points, section formula, direction ratios and direction cosines, angle between two intersecting lines. Skew lines, the shortest distance between them and its equation. Equations of a line and a plane in different forms, intersection of a line and a plane, coplanar lines.
UNIT 13: VECTOR ALGEBRA:
Vectors and scalars, addition of vectors, components of a vector in two dimensions and three dimensional space, scalar and vector products, scalar and vector triple product.
UNIT 14: STATISTICS AND PROBABILITY:
Measures of Dispersion: Calculation of mean, median, mode of grouped and ungrouped data calculation of standard deviation, variance and mean deviation for grouped and ungrouped data.
Probability: Probability of an event, addition and multiplication theorems of probability, Baye’s theorem, probability distribution of a random variate, Bernoulli trials and Binomial distribution.
UNIT 15: TRIGONOMETRY:
Trigonometrical identities and equations. Trigonometrical functions. Inverse trigonometrical functions and their properties. Heights and Distances.
UNIT 16: MATHEMATICAL REASONING:
Statements, logical operations and, or, implies, implied by, if and only if. Understanding of tautology, contradiction, converse and contrapositive.

3rd ALL INDIA ABACUS & MENTAL ARITHMETIC COMPETITION – 2016

1. OBJECTIVES

The Competition aims in its efforts to fulfill the following

  • Give chance for each student to compete at the National level 
  • Promote and advocate the learning of Abacus and Mental Arithmetic 
  • Elevate the standard of performance of learners of Abacus and Mental Arithmetic
  • Foster a closer relationship between the Course Instructors and students of various centers
  • Certify ones capability in Abacus or Mental Arithmetic

2. ADMINISTRATIVE DETAILS

Venue: A K R MAHAL & BALAMBAL MAHAL(SRI KANNAIH REDDIYAR TOWERS), 156/28A KALIAMAN KOIL STREET VIRUGAMBAKKAM,CHENNAI- 600 092.
Date                         :     10.01.2016
Competition Time    :     8:30 AM to 1:00 PM
Prize Distribution    :     4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Competition Fee      :     Rs.600/- per student. Last date for receipt of competition fee along with application should reach us on or before 15/12/2015. The total amount should be sent in the form of Demand Draft in favor of Jayavidya Education & Learning Systems Pvt Ltd, payable at Chennai
3. VALIDATION AND DISQUALIFICATION
Student Level certificate Xerox issued within the last 3 months should be attached with each application form and will be taken for validation to find out the correct term for each and every student
In case a student is found to be admitted into lower category of competition than actual completed level,
Student will not be issued hall ticket
The Franchise / Centre concerned shall be notified in letter of warning and will be automatically disqualified for future competitions
4. ENTRY & EXIT PROCEDURE FOR STUDENTS
Students of any batch should report half an hour before the scheduled time of competition at the entry gate/s of the hall or as indicated in the hall ticket
Entry will not be permitted through the gate other than that specified in the Hall ticket
Students will enter into the hall after getting the hall ticket checked by personnel on duty
5. JUDGING
Question and answer sheets are the property of Jayavidya Education & Learning Systems Pvt Ltd. and shall not be circulated after the exam even on request
There will be a panel of judges from the participating centers
In the event of a tie amongst the participants, the jury will rank the participants based on accuracy rate vis-ร -vis the attempted sums and / or the highest score in addition / subtraction
In case a tie persists, the lower age student will be declared winner
If a tie still persists, all will be declared as winners
The decision of the jury is final and no further correspondences shall be entertained
6. MARKS FOR ALL LEVELS
Each sum in Addition/ Subtraction = 2marks
Each sum in Multiplication/Division = 1 mark
7. PRIZES
Trophies will be awarded to Champion, I Runner up, II Runner up, III Runner up, IV Runner up, V Runner up in each group, by the chief guest on the stage itself
Consolation prizes for each category will be determined after isolating Champion to V Runner up prizes. 25% of the total participating students in each group will get the consolation prizes. These prizes will be delivered/dispatched at/from the Corp. office to the participating centers after a week from the date of competition separately but not on the stage
8. GENERAL RULES
All applications received after the deadlines will be rejected
All incomplete/incorrect applications even though received in time will be rejected
Students must bring their own ABACUS
All students must bring the Hall ticket and pencil/s to the competition hall
All students should report at the designated time on the day of the competition

CBSE Expression Series on Maulana Abul Kalam Azad

To pay tribute to the great freedom fighter, eminent educationist and the first Union Minister of
Education, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (born on 11 November, 1888), the Central Board of
Secondary Education announces CBSE Expression Series on Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
The details of this Expression Series are as follow:
i. To be held on 3 November 2015.
ii. The three categories of participation are:
a) Classes I to V, b) Classes VI to VIII and c) Classes IX to XII
iii. Topics are given in Annexure 1.
iv. Students may submit their entries as Essay/ Poem/ Drawing.
v. Entries may be submitted in any one of the 22 scheduled languages and English.
vi. Entries may be submitted using any of the three following modes:
a) Online mode through the link to be made available on www.cbseacademic.in
(Details given in Annexure II)
b) Uploading only the jpeg/ jpg/ doc file of the entry through the link to be made
available on www.cbseacademic.in . (Details given in Annexure II)

After completion of activity, participants are required to scan it/ click an image of the entry and upload it through link or send through Mobile App. Images without clear details may not be considered.
viii. The links and Mobile App for submission of entry shall remain activated from 08:00hrs in morning to 20:00 hrs in night on 3 November 2015.
ix. Students may submit their entries from school, home or a place as per their convenience.
x. Entries submitted through email/ by post will not be considered.
xi. Best 30 entries shall be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 2500/- and a Certificate of Merit.
xii. Each participant will get a Certificate of Participation.
xiii. Selection of best entries will be on the basis of originality of content and creative expression. Students may be contacted telephonically on the phone numbers provided by them to ascertain the originality of the entry submitted.
xiv. Plagiarism check may be done and the entry will be liable to disqualification if found plagiarized at any point of time.

ร˜  Only 6 teams with the highest scores in the preliminary test, qualifies to iFQ 2015.
ร˜  iFQ 2015 is a Multimedia Quiz, staged with six qualified teams from the preliminary test.

Rules and regulations:
·         The competition is strictly for HS/HSS Students from schools of Kannur District and all schools of Kerala Jesuit Province.
·         Students from all boards viz. Kerala (Govt., Aided & Un-Aided), ICSE, CBSE  etc are eligible
·         Only one team from a school is allowed. A team consists of two students - either from HS/HSS or combined.
·         Entries are to be submitted in the specified Entry form, certified by the Head of the institution. Entries can be submitted in person or through Post/Email to:

CBSE Expression Series on Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam

As an endeavour to pay tribute to the educationist, scientist, missile man and the People’s President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on his birthday on 15th October, the Central Board of Secondary Education announces CBSE Expression Series on Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam on 15 th October, 2015. The details of this Expression Series are as follow:
i. To be held on 15 th October, 2015.
ii. The three categories of participation are: a) Classes I to V, b) Classes VI to VIII and c) Classes IX to XII
 iii. Topics are given below
iv. Students may submit their entries as Essay/ Poem/ Drawing.
v. Entries may be submitted in any one of the 22 scheduled languages and English.
vi. Entries may be submitted using any of the three following modes: a) Online mode through the link to be made available on www.cbseacademic.in (Details given in Annexure II) b) Uploading only the jpeg/ jpg/ doc file of the entry through the link to be made available on www.cbseacademic.in .  x. Best 36 entries in each category shall be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 2500/- and a Certificate of Merit.
 xi. Each participant will get a Certificate of Participation.
xii. Selection of best entries will be on the basis of originality of content and creative expression. Students may be contacted telephonically on the phone numbers provided by them to ascertain the originality of the entry submitted.

Advance to Australia – India Schools Video Competition 2015

Students from IGCSE, IB, CBSE, ICSE and State Board  schools across India can have the chance to win a five-day trip to Australia, hosted by  leading Australian universities in the Advance to Australia India Schools Video Competition.
  • The competition is open to school students from grades  7 - 11, studying in India.
  • Teams should contain a maximum of two students.
  • Students must choose one of the following four themes: 
    • Social entrepreneurship
    • Creative Animation
    • Robotics
    • Marine Sciences
  • Schools can nominate a maximum of four teams (one for each theme)
  • Teams must produce a short video in English, no longer than 3 minutes, on their chosen theme and upload it to YouTube.

Four grand prizes

Each winning team will receive return flights from India to Australia for two students and one accompanying teacher. Accommodation, food and a study course are also included.

The team producing the best video on the theme of Roboticwill win a study visit to Curtin University in Perth. Curtin is Western Australia’s largest and most multi-cultural university making it an excellent academic choice for international students.
The team producing the best video on Marine Sciences will receive a study visit hosted by James Cook University which is internationally recognized for excellence in teaching and research, and is known for its supportive study environment and a practical approach to learning.
The competition is organised by Cambridge English Language Assessment and the Australian Trade Commission with support from Bond University, Charles Darwin University, Curtin University, and James Cook University. Travel is sponsored by National Australia Bank and CredilaSAE Institute is the Knowledge Partner.
The competition closing date is 15 January 2016.

In remembrance of the renowned freedom fighter and social reformer Sh. Jayaprakash Narayan, popularly known as JP, Central Board of Secondary Education announces CBSE Expression Series on Sh. Jayaprakash Narayan on 11th October, 2015.
The details of this Expression Series are as follow:

Selection Process:

C-DAC Hyderabad would send the paintings to the committee and selection would be done by the committee.

Terms and Conditions

The organization reserves the right to cancel the competition without any prior intimation.
The decision of the Jury / Expert committee at all levels of the painting competition will be final.
The paintings received are the property of ISEA project, C-DAC, Hyderabad.
The paintings will not be returned back.

Aavishkar Quiz October 2015

Target Group:
 The children in the schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary education in the following categories.
 Primary : I- V
 Middle : VI- VIII
  Secondary : IX –XII

Eligibility: Any bonafide student of a school affiliated to CBSE studying in standard I to standard XII can participate in the competition in the respective categories.
Type of Quiz : Face to Face Competition in Schools followed by selection of best talents by CBSE through an online quiz.
Medium : English/Hindi
Prizes:
Top ten students from each category (Primary-10, Middle-10 and Secondary-10) shall be shortlisted based on their performance and time for completion of the Online Quiz conducted by the Board. Each winner shall be given Rs.2500/- ( Rs. Two thousand five hundred only).
Conduct of Quiz: 
 To ensure wider participation of students, involvement of schools and selection of the winners on merit, the competition is proposed in two stages. The school level competition shall be held first as detailed below. Thereafter in the last week, the Board shall conduct an online quiz for finding out the best talents from the school level competition who have registered successfully.
Stage: 1- School Level Competition: 
The school shall organize an in-house Quiz Competition on any day during 7-13th October on the given theme i.e. “Light and Cinema”. The focus should be on creativity and innovation in the area of Mathematics, Science and Technology. The school shall select best two students from each category ( Primary, Middle and Secondary ). The selection of the candidates should be made in an impartial manner involving all students interested in the Quiz competition. The school may evolve its own mechanism for initial shortlisting. However conduct of Quiz competition on any day during 7-13th October 2015 in the school is a mandatory condition to be eligible for the next stage .
The names of two winners in each category ,two photographs of the event, a report in 200 words and contact details must be uploaded by the school on a link which will be available on CBSE website www.cbseacademic.in under the link “ Aavishkar Quiz” during 15th and 16th October , 2015. Schools shall be able to register only upto 5-00 p.m on 16th October 2015 . The specifications of the photograph for uploading are as given below.

 Size of Image –Maximum 200 KB
Utmost care should be taken while filling up the registration form and submission of report of first stage. In case, the email id registered is found to be invalid, no user id and password will be issued. Report submitted by any other mode like email, post etc. shall not be considered for registration. This is only the first level of the Quiz and no prizes are given by the Board to winners of the first stage.
Stage: 2 – Online Quiz conducted by the Board : The Board shall allot user id and password to the schools who have successfully registered within stipulated time. The date of the Online Quiz shall be 28th October 2015 . Best entries shall be selected on the basis of maximum scores obtained and minimum time for completion of the Quiz.
 All the schools which have registered for Aavishkar quiz series in the first stage by uploading their reports on the link given on www.cbseacademic.in latest by 5-00 p.m. on 16th October 2015 may conduct Online Quiz competition and shall follow the guidelines given below :
1. The Online Quiz Competition will be held on 28th October 2015.
2. User id and password can be downloaded from the link ,which will be available on the link “ Aavishkar quiz”on www.cbseacadmeic.in latest by 21st October 2015 .
You may provide the user id and password to the students only on the day of the Online quiz. Please note that, those who have not received any registration number shall not be given any user id and password.
The participating schools may note the following:
a) Participants have to be present in their own school and the Online Quiz competition will be held under the personal supervision of the Principal of the school.
b) The quiz will be held in three categories as per the following schedule :
1. Primary : I-V 9:45 a.m to 10: 30 a.m.
2. Middle: VI-VIII 11:30 a.m to 12: 15 p.m.
 3. Secondary : IX-XII 1: 00 p.m. to 1: 45 p.m.
c) The link shall be available on www.cbseacademic.in under the link Aavishkar quiz fifteen minutes prior to the commencement of the quiz for each category.
d) The total time duration for the quiz will be 45 minutes.
e) There shall be a total of 50 Multiple choice questions.
f) There shall be no negative marking.
g) Attempting all questions is not compulsory.
h) Once submit button is clicked, the score and time shall be saved and no changes can be made thereafter.
i) The candidate has to login using his/her user id and password. Login is allowed only once.
 j) The final selection will be based on the maximum score obtained and minimum time taken.
k) Quiz shall not be conducted again if there are technical problems at the Centre.
l) The principals shall be personally responsible for smooth and fair conduct of the Online quiz in their schools by giving all technical support required .
 m) However no support whatsoever shall be given by the school to the candidates participating in the Online quiz competition for answering the questions.
3. The schools must ensure the following for the smooth conduct of online quiz competition.
a) Uninterrupted Broad band connection/back up dongle in the school for proper access of the website.
b) One computer for each candidate.
 c) Backup power in case of power failure with UPS connected to each computer and the internet router.
d) The school must test the system one day in advance.
e) The technical failure shall not be considered the reason for re conduct of the quiz and School shall be responsible for provision of all required technical support.
For claiming the prize money, the Principal of the school shall sent a bonafide certificate of the winner in the Proforma given in Annexure- 1 within three days of declaration of the result on the email id: aavishkarquiz@gmail.com. You may ensure maximum participation of the students in the Quiz Competition which will in turn promote inquisitiveness and creativity among them in the area of Mathematics , Science and Technology.
