Eligibility: Children Studying from 1st to 12th standard (Date of birth on or after 01.08.1996)
There will be four groups:
Lower Primary
Upper Primary
High School
Higher Secondary

Medium: Wax Crayons for Lower Primary and Water Colour for all other categories

Date and Time: Saturday, 26 July 2013 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Venue: BEM High School, Mission School Junction, T.B Road, Palakkad

Subject of the painting will be announced 30 minutes prior to the competition
Please carry authorisation letter from respective schools certifying details of the students like name, class, date of birth

Certificates and Trophies to the winners
Refreshments will be provided.

18th Kanagawa Biennial World Children’s Art Exhibition

The Kngawa Biennial World Children's Art Exhibition has been held every two years since 1981. Held in Kangawa Prefecture to the the south of Tokyo, this even exhibits children's art from all over the world.
The 18th exhibition is scheduled to be held from the end of June to August 2015.

Eligibility: Children ages between 4 and 15 years old (As on April 1, 2014)

Theme: Open
Materials: Watercolor, Oil, Crayon, Print, Pasterls, Paper collage etc
Size: Quarto size (withing 54 cm X 38 cm) Canvas pieces should be less that F8 size
One entry per person
DO not frame the work.
Oil painting entries should be painted on canvas only.

Kidovators 2014

Kidovators 2014 is a platform for school students to showcase their intuitiveness and preparedness for life ahead. The challenge is being conducted in two Rounds. Round 1 is a national level written aptitude test to be conducted at school level. Round 2 is going to be a ‘Practical Challenge’ where students have to solve real life problems. This round will see top 175 students (of Classes 3 - 9) from all over India compete for the top honour – to be crowned ‘Champion Kidovator of India’ along with a host of other prizes.
 
The closing date for registration in Kidovators 2014 is 15th August 2014. The final date for Gyan Lab Team to receive the filled Registration Forms and Fees (Demand Draft/Online Payment) is 31st August 2014.

14th Sasthra Prathibha Matsaram - เดถാเดธ്เดค്เดฐ เดช്เดฐเดคിเดญാ เดฎเดค്เดธเดฐം 2014

Swadeshi Science Movement (SSM), the Kerala chapter of Vijnana Bharati is a popular science movement that aims at developing and propagating science at all levels. SSM organizes several programmes for students in Kerala; Sastra Pratibha Matsaram (SPM) and Face to Face with Frontiers in Science are some of the programmes which mainly target school students.

Structure of SPM 2014

Sastra Prathiba Matsaram (SPM) is a three level process of screening. The first level is a written examination consisting of multiple choice questions (MCQs). The second level is a Zonal one day Camp which will be held at four centres in Kerala and two students from each class representing their district will qualify to the third level. The third level is a two-day State Camp wherein the Sastra Prathibas of the State will be selected.
The State winners – Sastra Prathibas will represent Kerala at the National Camp – Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan Camp.
 

Who can participate?

Students of Kerala state studying in classes 6 to 11 of any Board of Education such as CBSE, ICSE, State Government, both English and Malayalam medium alike.
The candidates will be divided into two groups:

Group A : 6, 7, 8 classes

Group B : 9, 10 & 11 classes
 

Syllabus and Study material

The syllabus for all groups covers Indian Contribution from ancient to modern Science & Technology, Indian Space Science & achievements and Swami Vivekananda & Science besides reasoning & quantitative analysis and current affairs & General Knowledge.
The text material detailing Indian contribution to Science & Technology, Indian Space& achievements and Swami Vivekananda & Science which covers 80% of the total syllabus, will be published in "Science India", the science magazine of Swadeshi Science Movement as a special issue.
This science magazine will be supplied to all those registered students.
 

Selection Process

The first level – written examination will be of one hour duration. The answers are to be marked in the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheets. The medium of the examination is English.
A total of six students from each class of a district will qualify to the 2nd level – Zone Camp. The Zone Camp would comprise of 3-4 districts together but the selection to the third level will be district-wise class-wise. Finally two students from each class will represent their district at the State Camp which will be held at Ernakulam.

Foundation for Academic Excellence and Access (FAEA) Scholarship

FAEA invites application for scholarships (sponsored by BHEL) for the year 2014-2015 to pursue undergraduate studies in arts/commerce/science/medical/engineering and other technical and professional disciplines at any university/institution/college in India. 

Number of scholarships: - 50 

Eligibility Criteria: (i) Students belonging to socially and economically disadvantaged sections in the BPL category (ii) Students who have passed Class XII from a recognized board in India (iii) 1st year under-graduate  students.

Let's Eat The 15th International Art Exhibition

Art centre for children and young people .
The art centre promotes the art education of children and young people in Finland and its activities include art, art education and research.
The centre organises exhibitions, education and training, and workshops. The emphasis is on visual arts. The heart of the art centre is the international collection and archive of children’s and young people’s art, which has accumulated since the 1970s and now comprises approximately 100 000 artworks from some 130 countries. The Art Centre for Children and Young People collaborates with various expert bodies in the fields of youth work, art and culture.
The Art Centre for Children and Young People is run by a foundation established by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the City of Hyvinkรครค in 1980.
 
THEME
What kind of food do you eat at your place? What kind of habits and rituals are involved in eating? Where and how is food being produced and made? What does food look, smell and taste like? How would you represent the features and traditions of the food culture in your own environment, family, school or home town?
INVITATION
We invite children and young people throughout the world to participate in the 15th International Art Exhibition for Children and Young People. The theme is food. It can be interpreted freely and dealt with in various ways in order for the participant’s culture, environment and individual ideas to emerge. The inviter and exhibition organiser is Art Centre for Children and Young People in Hyvinkรครค, Finland.
 
EXHIBITION
The 15th International Exhibition will be held in Villa Arttu Cultural Centre for Children and Young People in Hyvinkรครค 29.10. –14.12.2014, and in the International Cultural Centre Caisa in Helsinki in the beginning of 2015. The submitted artworks will be evaluated by a working group which consists of recognised artists and art educators. The artworks for the exhibition will be selected from the  ollowing age categories: under 7 years, 7 – 9 years, 10 –12 years, 13 –15 years and 16 –18 years. Medals and diplomas will be awarded in each category.
ENTRIES
THE SUBMITTED ARTWORKS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. All the artworks will be added to the International Archive of Art Centre for Children and Young People.
If the maker of the artwork is underage, an adult person must be in charge (parent, teacher or similar). The copyright of the artwork is given to Art Centre for Children and Young People in Hyvinkรครค to extent that 1) the artwork can be included in the archive of children and young people’s art maintained by Art Centre for Children and Young People, 2) the artwork in the archive can be used for research, teaching and exhibitions, 3) the artwork can be used for the Art Centre for Children and Young People’s web pages. Otherwise the copyright, including commercialisation, remains with the maker.

The adult person in charge is responsible for the content of the video/photography and that the artwork does not impinge on other copyrighted material (e.g. music). In addition, the adult person in charge is responsible for all identifiable persons appearing in the video/photography having agreed to the artwork being presented publicly. The guardians of the underage persons appearing in the video/photography have to agree to the artwork being presented publicly.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SENDING PAPER BASED AND DIGITAL ARTWORKS
Paper based artworks
• The artworks are not to be framed.

• Techniques: drawings, paintings, graphics, photographs, comics etc.

• The maximum size is 42 x 60 cm.

• One work per person. Schools and groups may submit a maximum of 10 works.

• A copy of the entry form should be pasted to the back of each artwork, and filled with the required details. Visit the site for entry form

• The artworks should be sent by post to arrive no later than 31 May 2014 to: Art Centre for Children and Young People, Kankurinkatu 4–6, FI-05800 Hyvinkรครค, Finland
Digital artworks
• The digital artworks can be videos, animations, photographs or other digital images. In the videos the theme of food can be dealt with in the form of, for example, a story or a documentary.
• The digital artworks, for example photographs, won't be printed. The works will be shown in digital form.

• Allowed file types: jpg, png, gif, mov, avi, wmv, mp4

• Video Duration: maximum of 3 min

• Allowed file size: maximum of 100 MB

• One digital artwork/participant or a working group. Schools and groups are allowed to send in a maximum of 10 works.

• To upload digital material a code is needed. You receive the code to your email by registering here. You need the code when you send your registration form.

• Registration and uploading are done by filling out the e-form. Make sure that the form is filled out carefully. You can upload one digital artwork onto the form.

British Council India - English courses for young learners- Summer School for 8-15 years

Summer School courses are offered for young learners in three age groups: 8-10, 11-12 and 13-15 years.
Through these courses the child will:
  •   Improve speaking, writing, listening and reading skills, as well as grammar and vocabulary

Search is On for India’s Top Talent in MS OFFICE
COMPUDON – the gateway to the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship - is a platform for
Indian students to showcase their mastery in using Microsoft Office applications.
Eligible students from across India will compete for the title of “India Champions”, and up to 6 winners will then, proudly represent India at the “Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship” (fully sponsored trip by CyberLearning) in July 2014 at Disneyland, California, USA.


ELIGIBILITY:

SAVE THE FROGS! Poetry Contest


The 2014 SAVE THE FROGS! Poetry Contest will run from January 15th to October 17th, 2014. All ages and nationalities are encouraged to enter!

Who can participate?
Anyone. Students are encouraged to write and send their Frog poems


Frog Poem?
Any poems that mention frogs, salamanders, newts, toads, caecilians, amphibians, savethefrogs.com, and/or SAVE THE FROGS!

Here are some ideas for your frog poems:

(1) Find out about a particular kind of frog and describe the world from that frog’s point of view.

(2) What if you found the last frogs alive on the planet … What would you do? How would you feel?

(3) Write a poem that makes the reader understand the importance of saving frogs, or one that makes them realize the danger frogs are in.

(4) Write a poem about any of the threats to frogs.

(5) Write a poem about how ridiculously cool frogs are!

(6) Imagine all kinds of brave, extravagant and daring ways in which you could save the frogs. Check out the How to Help page at the Website
