The Elmbridge Literary Competition

Discover the Magic of Rivers Through Words: Enter the 20th Elmbridge Literary Competition

Rivers have always inspired writers and poets, flowing through literature as metaphors for life’s journey, sources of mystery, and symbols of environmental concern. This year, the 20th Elmbridge Literary Competition invites you to explore the theme of “The River” through short stories and poems. The competition commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Death of RC Sherriff and the anniversary of the publication of Three Men In A Boat.

RC Sherriff, best known for Journey’s End, was a passionate rower whose love for rivers endures in his works and memorials. Whether you find inspiration in the journey of life, mythical tales, or the pressing environmental debates of today, let your creativity flow like a river!
