With great pleasure, Happiness Strategy Foundation is inviting photography submissions to the third annual India Happiness Photo Contest 2024. The first two annual contests namely India Happiness Photo Contest 2022 and India Happiness Photo Contest 2023 were conducted successfully and resulted in books India Happiness 2022 and India Happiness 2023. Through the contest, we would like to focus on happiness in your lives. We all have places, people, hobbies, events, and so on that brings us happiness, and we are inviting you to share these with us through this photography contest. Successful submissions will be published in a virtual coffee table book by the Happiness Strategy Foundation. The Happiness Strategy Foundation is a not-for-profit think tank for research on happiness and well-being and sharing the research findings with masses and industry to make a meaningful contribution to the happiness of India and the world.
The winning photos will be selected by a distinguished jury consisting of experts in happiness, design, photography, media and civil society.
You do not need to be a photographer or a photography lover to participate in this contest. The focus of this competition is on your happiness and not on photography per se.
The submission for 2024 contest are open from Feburary 1, 2024 and the last date of submission is July 1, 2024. The results will be shared by November 30, 2024.

All submissions must be original and unpublished photos taken by the photographer.
All submissions must have necessary information embedded into photographs IPTC like caption (maximum word limit: 10 words), description of why it is a happy photo (maximum word limit: 30 words), creation date.
Photography captions and descriptions must be written in English. Kindly check the caption and description limits before sending your photos.
Photo specifications: JPG format. The acceptable compression will not exceed 10. The image is to be no less than 2480 x 3508 pixels (300 dpi).
No signatures, stamps or any other identifying mark is allowed anywhere on the entry. Photographer's name or company should not be mentioned in the captions. Photographer will be credited if the photo is published.
Digital Manipulation and any kind of Photoshop effects are not allowed; only basic colour corrections are allowed.
The file name must contain the full name of the author, state and year it was shot, separated by underscores, for example, Nitish_Kumar_Mumbai_2023. The file size must not exceed 20 Mb. The file must also contain all the EXIF or IPTC data.
Photographers must be the copyright owner of the submitted photographs, and photographs must not violate any third party rights. Photographer has the liability for copyrights and non-violation of any third party rights.
Photographers need to give an undertaking that this is their original, unpublished work and they have the copyright of the photograph, and they are not violating any third party rights. For this, submit the specified photo copy right release form. Kindly note that organisers may ask for proof of the source of the photo and a brief profile of the photographer, including a photo identity card.
The winning photos will be selected by an independent panel consisting of leading experts in happiness, design, photography, media and civil society.
The winning photographers will be informed latest by November 30, 2024.
Winning photos will be published in a virtual coffee table book. Photographer will be identified in the publication.
