Transform Trash into Treasure: A Call for Sustainable Creativity

What if waste could tell a story? What if discarded materials could spark innovation and inspire change? The Trash into Treasure Contest invites you to take on the challenge of turning waste into awe-inspiring installations that speak volumes about sustainability, environmental care, and responsible living.


This contest isn’t just about creativity; it’s a platform to showcase your ingenuity and commitment to a greener planet. Whether you’re passionate about recycling, sustainability, or simply love a creative challenge, this is your chance to make an impact.

Who Can Participate?

  • Team Composition:
    • Each team must have 3–5 members.
    • Teams must include undergraduate or postgraduate students, and at least one student from Grades 11–12.
    • A faculty mentor is required for guidance.

The Challenge

Create an installation using waste or sustainable materials that reflects themes of:

  • Sustainability
  • Innovation
  • Environmental Awareness

Key Requirements

  • Material Usage: At least 80% of the installation must consist of waste or recycled materials. Avoid hazardous materials.
  • Installation Size: Maximum dimensions are 6 feet (height) x 4 feet (width) x 4 feet (depth).
  • Submission Deadline: January 15, 2025.

How to Participate

  1. Create Your Installation: Craft a visually striking and meaningful piece using waste or recycled materials.
  2. Document It: Submit clear photographs or a video (MP4 format, max 3 minutes) of your installation. Include a description (max 300 words) explaining the concept, materials used, and the message behind it.
  3. Social Media Engagement: Share your creation on Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube. Tag the official Summit of Future 2025 handles and use the hashtag #InstallFromWaste.

Judging Criteria

Your entry will be evaluated on:

  • Innovation and Creativity (30%): How unique and creative is your idea?
  • Relevance to Theme (30%): Does your installation promote sustainability effectively?
  • Use of Materials (20%): How well did you utilize waste or sustainable materials?
  • Social Media Engagement (20%): Likes, shares, and comments on your post.
