National School Scrabble Championship

Collins is organising National School Scrabble Championship, in collaboration with Mattel and the Scrabble Association of India.

The National School Scrabble Championship is being held across India from 1 September to 5 November 2022.

Eligibility
• All school and pre-University students (up to Class XII) resident in India.
• Registrations can be done only through schools. In case there are students unable to
participate because of this restriction, we would consider them on a case-by-case basis, after first attempting to reach their schools.

Championship Format
The tournament would be conducted in three stages, in a hybrid mode, online + offline.
• The initial qualifiers take place online on 9 and 10 Sep
• Zonals would be held at 8 zones (offline, in person) between 24 Sep and 18 Oct
• 4 students from each Zonal will qualify for the Grand Finale to be held in Delhi on 5 Nov.

To sign up, visit www.collins.in/SchoolScrabble2022 or email on
schoolsupport@harpercollins.co.in

A series of short videos is available at the Collins Learning YouTube page – School Scrabble
Tournament 2022 introduces the basics of competitive scrabble. It is highly recommended to go
through these before the online qualifiers.

You can get a Scrabble Game at a discounted price from the below link

Online Qualifiers (9 and 10 September)
Practice Quiz:
There is a “practice quiz” available here (https://bit.ly/Scrabble2022) until 8 Sep. The
qualifier quiz will follow a similar format. The actual quiz for the qualifier will have questions similar
to this practice quiz. Going through the scrabble videos posted on the Collins Youtube page (https://
www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNAorr8M6FGr-jEMMvoF0pkeHn8d1LjUQ) will help students with
the kind of questions that will be there in the qualifying quiz.

Prizes
• The overall winner will be crowned the School Scrabble Champion for 2022 and win a trophy
• Prizes for the top 10 overall
• Prizes for up to 3 others from the “junior” category (Class VIII and below) who finished
outside the top 10
