To mark World Mental Health Day 2020, Youmanity has partnered with the charity Papyrus for the launch of a screenshot competition: Friend-Ship.
Friend-Ship encourages you to submit a screenshot of your phone, tablet, computer used during video calls with family, friends, neighbours and/or anyone you made video-calls with. Screenshots don’t need to be of high resolution so long they capture a treasured connection between friends. Submission is free.
Artwork
1. Each applicant will need to submit 1(one) screenshot capture.
2. Screenshots may be enhanced for colour/contrast/brightness, but cannot be
manipulated.
3. Applicants must warrant that the screenshot they are submitting is their own work and
that they own the copyright for it.
4. Applicants must have authorisation from the person(s) captured in their screenshot to
use their image for this contest and exhibition.
5. Each applicant will retain full copyright of their own work.
There are no fees to enter the competition.
Participants
The competition is open to participants of all nationalities worldwide. Only one entry per person. Illegible or incomplete entries will not be accepted. Please note that proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
Each applicant will need to submit:
1. One snapshot
2. Artistic statement: what is going on in the snapshot you are submitting? For example,
was this a video call to celebrate a Friend’s birthday/Christening etc. We need this information
for the captions that will accompany the screenshot exhibition.
Prize
The winning screenshots will be showcased online in February 20121. The winner will be awarded £500 cash prize.
