Médicos del Mundo Spain invites you to participate in the 28th Luis Valtueña International Humanitarian Photography Award—an opportunity to share your powerful images with the world.
Participation is open to photographers -professional or otherwise- as well as to groups of two or more members, of any nationality, over 18 years of age and with a documentary and/or photojournalistic approach
About the Award
This prestigious award pays tribute to photographer and aid worker Luis Valtueña and his colleagues, who tragically lost their lives in humanitarian missions in Rwanda and Bosnia during the 1990s. The award honors their legacy by promoting the human values they stood for, through photography that captures the essence of humanitarian action and global inequalities.

Prize and Recognition
Cash Prize of €6,000
Winning and finalist works will be featured in a collective and itinerant exhibition produced by Médicos del Mundo Spain.
The winning photographer and finalists will also be published in an official award catalog.
Winners will receive all-expenses-paid travel and accommodation for the award ceremony and exhibition opening.
The chosen photographs will be promoted through press releases, media coverage, and other platforms for at least one year.
Submission Guidelines
Photographers must submit a series of 5-10 images (color and/or black-and-white) that tell a cohesive story.
Entries must include a project description and captions, but the photographer's name should not appear in the descriptions, captions, or file names.
Submissions must be made exclusively via the Picter website, and participants must create an account to apply.

Error rectification: Friday, October 11, 2024
Jury's decision: November 2024
Award ceremony and exhibition opening: January 2025
