The quiz will be conducted with the theme “Space”
Quiz will be conducted in hybrid mode – Online followed by offline rounds
Students from class 8th to 12th can participate in this competition
Round 1: Online Quiz through online (October 1, 2022)
Round 2: Semi-Final at VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram (October 09, 2022)
Round 3: Grand Final at VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram (October 09, 2022)
Participants will be divided into 4 zones according to the district of the school. Zone division is as follows:
Registration
• Only schools can register for the event. Students shall not register directly.
• Competition is for individual students. Each school can nominate a maximum of 6 students.
• Zone will be allocated automatically based on the location of the school.
• Schools shall identify 2 faculties as the focal points for registration and communications.
• One of the Focal points shall register for the students from that school.
• The following details shall be mandatorily provided by the schools during registration:
School Details: Name, Address with pincode, Phone number (with STD code), Mobile Number)
Focal point Details: Name, Contact Number (preferably WhatsApp), Email ID
Student details:Name, Class, Email ID, Contact number
Scanned copy of the authorization letter duly signed by the Head of the institution. Letter shall be in format prescribed in website.
• Confirmation of the participant will be done after verification of the authorization letter from the Head of the institution.
• Date & Time slot along with the participant username for the event will be allotted at the time of registration. After registration, username and link for setting the password will be sent to the registered mail ID of the participants.
• Faculty shall ensure that the participant has generated their password after registration.
• All participants should participate at the allotted time only. Participants will not be able to attend the quiz beyond the allotted time slot.
Improper registration will lead to disqualification of the participant. Hence, the focal point shall ensure that the registration is as per the rules given in the quiz page of VSSC-World Space Week website.
Preliminary round
• Time slot and the credentials (Username and password) for attending preliminary round will be provided to the participants by Email.
• Preliminary round will be an Online round with Multiple choice questions.
• Each participant will be given 10 minutes. At the end of the 10 minutes, test will be automatically submitted.
• 4 participants from each zone will be selected for next round at VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram
Semi-Final
• Top 16 participants (4 from each zone) will compete in the Semi-Final round at VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram.
• Semi-Final will be a written test.
• Top 6 participants proceed to the Grand Final.
Grand Final
• Top 6 participants will compete in the Final round at VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram.
• Grand Final will be an Oral quiz.
Prizes
Three top scoring participants will be declared as winners in the Grand Final.
Prizes carry a Certificate, books and mementos.
All the students will be provided with participation certificates.
Prize distribution will be during Valedictory function on 10th October, 2022.
