Poetry is not just meant to be read—it is meant to be felt, expressed, and shared. To celebrate the beauty of literature and inspire young readers across the country, the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya (ReP) has launched Rashtriya Kavya Utsav 2026, a National Recitation Competition for students of Classes IX to XII.
Running from 1 June to 31 July 2026, this exciting nationwide competition provides students with an opportunity to showcase their recitation skills, creativity, confidence, and love for poetry while exploring the rich collection of poems available on the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya platform.
๐ Why Participate?
Poetry nurtures imagination, strengthens language skills, and helps students express emotions with confidence. Through this initiative, students will:

- ๐️ Enhance communication and public speaking skills.
- ๐ฎ๐ณ Foster patriotism, cultural awareness, and value-based learning.
- ๐ Discover and engage with the vast digital resources available on Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya.
Every recitation is a chance to give voice to timeless words of wisdom and inspire others through the power of poetry.
๐ฉ๐ Who Can Participate?
The competition is open to students of Classes IX to XII from all schools across India.
Each participant may submit only one entry, choosing one poem from the list available under the Rashtriya Kavya Utsav section of the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya platform.
๐ How to Participate
Step 1: Register on Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya
- Download the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya App (Android/iOS) or visit the web portal.
- Register and log in to your account.
Step 2: Select Your Poem
- Open the Rashtriya Kavya Utsav banner on the platform.
- Choose any one poem from the official competition collection.
Step 3: Record Your Recitation
Create a 60–90 second video following these guidelines:
- ๐ฅ Face clearly visible (frame up to the waist)
- ๐ค Clear and audible voice
- ❌ No background music
- ❌ No dubbing or voice enhancement
- ❌ No AI-assisted narration
- ✅ Original recitation by the participant only
Step 4: Share on Social Media
Upload your video on any one of the following platforms:
- YouTube
- X (formerly Twitter)
Don't forget to:
- Tag the official Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya account.
- Use the hashtag #RashtriyaKavyaUtsav.

Step 5: Submit Your Entry
Complete the online submission form by providing:
- Participant details
- School details
- Contact information
- Link to your uploaded video
- Parent/Guardian consent declaration
Only complete entries with valid video links will be accepted.

๐ข Important Note
Parental or guardian consent is mandatory. Once an entry is submitted, it cannot be withdrawn, and the video may be featured by Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya for promotional and educational purposes.
