Kreativity League 2026 – RoboQuest Jr. for Grades 6–8

Gem Collector Challenge: Build, Control, and Conquer!

Are you fascinated by robots and engineering? Do you enjoy building things and solving challenges as a team? Kreativity League 2026 brings an exciting opportunity for students of Grades 6 to 8 through RoboQuest Jr. – Gem Collector Challenge.

This hands-on robotics competition encourages students to design, build, and operate a manually controlled robot that can collect coloured gem blocks and deposit them into the correct collection zones. Success depends on engineering skills, precision, teamwork, and smart strategy.

🤖 What is RoboQuest Jr.?

RoboQuest Jr. is an exciting robotics challenge where teams build a manually controlled robot capable of:

  • Picking up coloured gem blocks
  • Carrying them safely
  • Depositing them in the designated collection zones
  • Returning to the starting position within the allotted time

The challenge combines mechanical design, problem-solving, and accurate robot control in a competitive arena.

👥 Who Can Participate?

  • Grades: 6–8
  • Team Size: Maximum 3 students per team

🚀 Competition Journey

The competition consists of three stages:

👨‍🏫 Mentoring

Participate in LMS sessions to understand the competition rules and receive guidance from experts.

🏆 Zonal Competition

Compete with teams from your zone and demonstrate your robot's performance.

🌟 National Finale

The top 20% of teams from each zone, based on their scores, will qualify for the National Finale.

💡 Challenge Highlights

1. 💎 Gem Collector Robot

Design and build a manually controlled robot that can:

  • Pick up coloured gem blocks
  • Transport them safely
  • Deposit them into the correct collection zones

Efficient design and smooth operation are the keys to success.

2. 🎮 Wireless Manual Control

The robot must be operated using:

  • One RoboQuest controller
  • One compatible remote controller

Fully autonomous robots are not permitted. Teams must manually control the robot throughout the challenge.

3. 🏟 Arena Challenge

Teams will compete on a specially designed 240 cm × 340 cm arena, inspired by the layout of an 8-ball pool table.

The robot must complete all assigned tasks within 5 minutes.

📋 Robot Specifications

To ensure fair competition, all robots must follow these technical requirements:

Robot Size

  • Maximum dimensions: 25 cm × 25 cm × 20 cm
  • Measured during initial inspection
  • Robotic hand excluded from the size limit
  • Wheels included in the measurement
  • 5% tolerance permitted

Weight

  • Maximum weight: 1.5 kg

Motors & Power

  • BO DC motors only
  • Maximum motor speed: 200 RPM
  • Battery voltage must not exceed 12V

Wheels

  • Maximum wheel diameter: 8 cm
  • Maximum wheel width: 2.5 cm
  • Omni-directional wheels are not allowed

✅ Competition Task

Each robot must:

  • Start from the Manual Control Zone
  • Collect coloured gem blocks using its robotic arm
  • Deposit each gem into the correct collection zone
  • Return safely to the starting zone before time expires

Teams will be evaluated based on accuracy, efficiency, and successful task completion.
