Are you passionate about robotics, engineering, and solving complex challenges? Kreativity League 2026 presents RoboQuest Sr. – Maze Solver Challenge, an exciting robotics competition for students of Grades 9 to 12.



In this challenge, teams design and build a manually controlled robot capable of navigating a maze, identifying the shortest route, overcoming obstacles, and reaching the target zone in the least possible time. Success depends on smart engineering, precise control, strategic planning, and quick decision-making.


🚀 What is RoboQuest Sr.?

RoboQuest Sr. is a robotics competition where students design, construct, and operate a compact robot to solve a challenging maze.

The objective is simple—but challenging:

  • Navigate through an unknown maze
  • Identify the shortest and most efficient path
  • Reach the destination zone as quickly as possible
  • Earn bonus opportunities by reaching designated power markers

The competition tests both the robot's design and the team's ability to think and react under pressure.


👥 Who Can Participate?

  • Grades: 9–12
  • Team Size: Maximum 3 students per team

🚀 Competition Journey

The competition progresses through three stages:

👨‍🏫 Mentoring

Attend LMS sessions to understand the competition rules and receive expert guidance.

🏆 Zonal Competition

Compete in the maze-solving challenge against teams from your zone.

🌟 National Finale

The top 20% of teams from each zone, based on their scores, will qualify for the National Finale.

1. 🤖 Maze Solver Robot

Build a manually controlled robot that can:

  • Navigate through a maze
  • Make quick directional decisions
  • Reach the destination in the shortest possible time

A compact, reliable, and well-designed robot will provide a competitive advantage.


2. 🧭 Navigation Strategy

The challenge is not just about speed—it is also about strategy.

Teams must:

  • Identify the shortest route
  • Handle multiple possible paths
  • Make rapid navigation decisions
  • Collect bonus opportunities by reaching designated power markers

3. 🚨 Disaster Rescue Simulation

The maze represents real-world environments encountered during rescue and exploration missions.

Students apply robotics concepts inspired by:

  • Disaster response
  • Search and rescue operations
  • Tunnel navigation
  • Collapsed structures
  • Hazardous environments

This challenge demonstrates how robotics can assist in situations where human access is difficult or dangerous.


📋 Robot Specifications

To ensure fair competition, every robot must meet the following requirements.

Control System

  • Robot must be wirelessly controlled using its designated remote controller.
  • Mobile phones are not permitted for robot control.

Motors & Power

  • BO DC motors only
  • Maximum motor speed: 300 RPM
  • Battery voltage must not exceed 12V

Robot Dimensions

  • Maximum size:
    • 16 cm × 16 cm × 15 cm
  • Wheels are included in the measurement.
  • 5% tolerance is permitted.

Arena

  • Maze dimensions: 16 ft × 16 ft
  • Wall separation: 20 cm
  • The maze layout will be revealed only on the day of the Zonal Competition, making strategy and adaptability essential.
