About the Jan Aushadhi Diwas and Essay Writing Competition
The Jan Aushadhi Diwas is a celebration of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana (PMJAY), an initiative aimed at making medicines and medical devices more affordable and accessible for all citizens. With more than 15,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras across India, the initiative offers medicines at 50% to 80% lower prices compared to branded alternatives. As part of this year's celebration, the focus is on expanding the network to 25,000 Kendras, ensuring that every citizen, especially in rural and underserved areas, has access to life-saving medicines at an affordable cost.
