Essay competition on World Environment week (1st-7th June, 2021)
Centre for Sustainability and Environmental Management, IIM Sirmaur will conduct to commemorate World Environment Day i.e., 05th June 2021. World Environment Day, is the most renowned day for environmental action. Since 1974, it has been celebrated every year on 5th June for engaging governments, businesses, celebrities and citizens to focus their efforts on a pressing environmental issue. World Environment Day (WED) has grown to become a global platform for public outreach, with participation from over 143 countries annually. Each year, WED has provided a new theme that major corporations, NGOs, communities, governments and all celebrities worldwide adopt to advocate environmental causes.
The theme for this year is biodiversity – a concern that is both urgent and existential.
As part of this, IIM Sirmaur announces an essay writing competition open for all the full time graduate and post graduate students of institutions/universities based in India. Interested participants can write an essay in their own words on the topic “The Effects of Plastic waste on Biodiversity”.
