Live animal markets can be found in many countries from East to West, such as the United States, Indonesia, China, and Nigeria. Many live animals, such as dogs, cats, fish, chickens, goats, sheep, and rabbits, have been sold to restaurants or slaughtered for purchase in live animal markets.
Wild animals such as squirrels, civet cats, monkeys, turtles, frogs, pigeons, and sea life were sold in open-air markets without hygiene protocols. They live in dirt, smog, and contamination without oversight, which might facilitate the spread of animal-borne diseases and COVID-19.
What suggestions do you have to improve regulations and solve this issue? Do you have any recommendations for utilizing a humane way for farms and food processing companies? What are your suggestions for protecting animals in live animal markets or farms? What steps do you suggest to improve animal welfare in your country?
