World Environment Day Contest for School Students

In celebration of World Environment Day on 5th June, Fairgaze, in partnership with India Is Us (i2u Social Foundation), proudly launches the June SDG Campaign under the inspiring theme "Our Green Planet". This initiative brings environmental consciousness and creative expression together, encouraging school children and NGO-partnered youth to take meaningful steps toward sustainability through art.

A Campaign Rooted in Creativity and Community

The campaign, which runs from 10th May to 15th June 2025, invites children across India to reimagine waste materials as impactful works of art. Through the activity of Upcycled Wall Art and Bulletin Board Murals, participants will collaboratively design and create visual messages that promote environmental conservation and align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The project underscores the importance of reusing everyday waste items—such as bottle caps, newspapers, straws, and cartons—to foster environmental responsibility, creativity, and teamwork among young minds.

Campaign Objectives

  • Promote awareness of environmental sustainability and conservation.

  • Encourage students to engage in upcycling through a collaborative, hands-on project.

  • Strengthen understanding of the SDGs and their local impact.

  • Bridge creativity, education, and community engagement through student-driven initiatives.

Participation Guidelines

The campaign is open to students from Class 1 to Class 12 across India and is conducted entirely online. Participation is free of charge, and entries may be submitted in English or Hindi.

  • Age Categories:

    • 6–10 years (Grades 1–5)

    • 11–14 years (Grades 6–8)

    • 15–18 years (Grades 9–12)

  • Activity: Students, in groups of 7 to 8, will create murals using upcycled materials. Locations for these murals may include school boundary walls, hallways, classroom walls, or temporary surfaces such as chart paper boards.

  • Multiple Entries: Schools may submit multiple group entries, but each student may only participate in one entry.

How to Participate

  1. Form a group of 7 to 8 students from a school or NGO.

  2. Fill out the registration form available from 10th May 2025.

  3. Upon submission, participants will receive a username and password via their registered email.

  4. Using the login credentials, groups can upload their mural submission (either a photo or a short video of approximately 30 seconds) to the Environment Day submission portal.

Important Dates

  • Registration and Submissions Open: 10th May 2025

  • Last Date to Submit Entries: 15th June 2025

  • Winner Announcement: 30th June 2025

Building a Greener Tomorrow

The "Our Green Planet" campaign is more than an art competition—it is a platform for children to become advocates of sustainability, channel their creativity into real-world impact, and work collectively for a better future. By transforming waste into purpose, students are reminded that small efforts can lead to significant change.

Fairgaze and i2u Social Foundation look forward to the thoughtful, vibrant creations from across the country and the stories of change they will inspire.
