1st All India Vimarsh Speech Competition by USLLS

University School of Law and Legal Studies, GGSIP University hope that this message finds you in good health. These are testing times and such is the nature of the current situation that we are all confined to our homes, but that necessarily doesn’t mean we should confine ourselves from growing, igniting and uniting in this quest to adapt to the need of the hour and emerge as better version of ourselves. 

In pursuance of this quest to grow, USLIS is conducting the ‘1st All India Online Vimarsh Competition’, an online speech competition to further the prospect of public speaking among students and to help them in igniting themselves and those around them in creating awareness about this situation that affects us all equally.

Guidelines for the Online Speech Competition : 

1. The participants shall have to register for the competition through means of online  registration through this google form.

2. Entry is on a first come first serve basis. The confirmed participants will be informed through email about the same. 

3. The participants have to send their entries in the form of a video which would be  uploaded on our social media platforms.

4. Participants shall speak on the given topic but it should be understood that politicization of the issue, promoting bias, and not engaging in healthy exchange of opinions would lead to disqualification.

5. The size of the video must not be more than 60-70 MB.

6. The entry which gets the maximum number of “likes” along with the decision of the organizers shall be the winner. (please refer the judging criteria below)

7. The theme for the competition shall be – “New World order in wake of Covid – 19,      Opportunities and encumbrances” / “कोविड - १९ के उपरांत नयी विश्व-व्यवस्था, अवसर एवं रुकावटें”

❖    The participants have to mail their performances in mp4 format video to our

        official email account usllscompetitions.ggsipu@gmail.com

❖    Only the entries received before 12 noon of 28th May shall be entertained.

❖    Online Polling (Views and Likes) will commence from 29th May, upto 1st June. 

❖    The results shall be announced on or before 2nd June, 2020.

❖ E-certificates to all the participants.

RULES

● Maximum time limit is 3 minutes. 

● Use of background music or props is prohibited.

● Use of unparliamentary language or socially, morally suggestive expressions 

        is prohibited.

● Irrelevant content will not be considered.

●     The medium of language is both English and Hindi.

●     Use of any kind of unfair or iillicit means will straightaway lead to disqualification. 

       The same will be monitored by the organising committee. 

       No requests whatsoever shall be entertained thereafter.

● By sending the videos, the creator transfers all rights over the video to the University. 

The judging criteria shall be as follows :-

▪ 60% weightage shall be given by the judges of the event.

▪      The judges shall mark the videos on the basis of :

a) Content (10 marks)

b) Clarity (10 marks)

c) Conveyance (10 marks)

d) Cognitiveness(10 marks)

▪   40% weightage shall be given to the number of likes received on the videos to be uploaded on the Youtube Channel. Depending on the average of "Likes” received on all the videos, the weightage of each like shall be calculated.

PRIZES 

● Top 2 entries from each category i.e. English and Hindi will be awarded Special Certificate of merit [E-Certificates]. 

● The Overall Winner would be adjudged as the 'Best Speaker' [E-certificate]  and any other reward as and when possible as per the routine course of the University. 

● Certificate for all participants [E- Certificates].
