The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with the MyGov platform, has launched a nationwide Poster Making Competition on the theme "Stay Cool, Stay Safe". The initiative aims to raise awareness about heatwave preparedness and encourage students to use their creativity to promote safety during extreme weather conditions.
As heatwaves become more frequent and intense across India, educating young citizens about preventive measures and community resilience has become increasingly important. This competition provides school students with an opportunity to express their ideas through art while contributing to a meaningful public awareness campaign.
About the Competition
Posters are powerful tools for communicating important messages and inspiring positive behavioural change. Through this competition, students are encouraged to create impactful artwork that highlights:
Heatwave awareness and preparedness
Safety measures during extreme heat
Community resilience and support systems
Environmental responsibility
Protection of vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and outdoor workers
Participants can creatively depict the effects of heatwaves on daily life and suggest innovative ways to spread awareness and promote a culture of safety.
Who Can Participate?
The competition is open to school students studying in recognised schools across India.
Accepted Forms of Artwork
Students may submit their entries in any of the following formats:
Paintings
Hand-drawn sketches
Illustrations
Watercolour artwork
Acrylic paintings
Crayon drawings
Pencil art
Any other artistic medium
Participants are encouraged to use their imagination and artistic skills to create visually engaging posters that effectively communicate the message of heatwave safety.
Judgement Criteria
Entries will be evaluated based on:
Relevance to the theme and effectiveness of communication
Creativity and originality of the concept
Visual impact and artistic appeal
Clarity and legibility of the message
Quality of artwork and presentation
Ability of the poster to independently convey heatwave safety awareness

The top three entries will receive the following cash awards:

Students are advised to complete and submit their entries well before the deadline.
Submission Guidelines
Only one entry is permitted per participant.
Multiple submissions from the same participant may result in disqualification.
Entries must be uploaded in either JPG or PDF format.
Artwork should be original and created by the participant.
