Smart Community Governance Global Competition

Amity University Uttar Pradesh has taken an unprecedented initiative, inviting young creative minds to think out of the box and compete in reinventing the community governance model being followed in your city/state/country.
Your proposal will demonstrate how alliances between citizens, community, healthcare, businesses and other stakeholders can transform the future by delivering technology driven, smart, resilient, scalable, economically viable and sustainable community governance model (CGM).

Who Can Apply?
  • A young person studying in Higher Education Institution in any state/country, or
  • A team of maximum five students of Higher Education Institution. One of the team members can be a Professor/Asst Professor working full time in an HEI.

Registration Fee
• For Individual Participants – Rs750/- per participant
• For Team Participants – Rs2000/- per team

What should be smart CGM approach?
The approach should aim to achieve meaningful outcomes for citizens & community by leveraging the fundamental benefits that the following example elements and connected technology may offer:
• Openness & Integration When community governance organizations, businesses use open source, standardized ICT (including IoT) for barrier-free data accessibility by its citizens, they achieve transparency in their decision-making processes, enhance quality, performance, interactivity, further empowering citizens and strengthening relationship with them.
• Transforming life and working environments When investments in human and social capital enables partnerships leading to sustainable economic growth, quality of life, environment and critical infrastructure.

Stage 1
Fill up the on-line application form and pay the registration fee on-line. 
Stage 2
To begin, each participant/team will define their Challenge Statement. 
The Challenge Statement defines the outcome or outcomes the proposed Community Governance Model (CGM) will aim to achieve. The Challenge Statement must be measurable, ambitious, and achievable. It should describe the outcome (or outcomes) you hope to achieve. (100 words max) 

Example Challenge Statement 
Be empowered and secure in the community 
The proposed community model will ensure that every citizen has access to healthcare, nightly shelter, is connected and provide infrastructure and services, activities and programs that are known to reduce the risk of unemployment, crime and disaster.

Stage 4
Selection of 2nd Stage Finalists
Eligible applications will be reviewed by experts from inside and outside Amity University Uttar Pradesh and will then be evaluated by an independent Jury.
The competition organizers will submit the applicant proposals for expert & Jury review concealing the applicant/team details to maintain zero biasness.
For maintaining confidentiality and zero biasness, the Jury details will be only disclosed after the closure of the competition.

Stage 5
Final Proposal
2nd Stage Finalists will develop fully implementable final proposals that outline all design, planning, and project management components of their model/plan. Each final proposal must present a strong professional case with clearly established milestones and measurable outcomes.
Each contestant/team will be required to pre-record a video presentation in English to be used for the second round of evaluation. The video has to be uploaded on cloud and link sent with the final proposal.
The third round of evaluation will be live on- line question and answer session via MS
Teams/Zoom with the Jury and will last for five minutes.
Final proposal should demonstrate how the proposed model is able to integrate the design, planning and project management processes to demonstrate a strong professional case.

Selection of Winners
Like in the 2nd Stage Finalists process, final proposals will be reviewed by experts from inside and outside Amity University Uttar Pradesh and will then be evaluated by an independent Jury.
The competition organizers will submit the applicant proposals for expert & Jury review concealing the applicant/team details to maintain zero biasness.
For maintaining confidentiality and zero biasness, the Jury details will be only disclosed after the closure of the competition.


Prizes 
The competition includes a total of 06 awards. 
• One Grand Award: Rs 10,000 
• Two Excellence Awards: each winner will receive Rs 5,000 
• Three country/state-specific awards: each winner will receive Rs 2,000 
The competition will be conducted if minimum number of entries are received by the organizers. 

Timelines 
Preliminary Proposals submission date: 20th April 2020 
Final Proposal submission date: 30th April 2020 
Contestants to Note 
1. All submissions will become the property of Amity University Uttar Pradesh.
2. Amity University Uttar Pradesh will have no obligation of any sort towards the contestants. 
3. Contestant Teams should follow the guidelines on COVID19 being given by Government of India/State Governments/Other Authorities and will not meet physically for participation in this competition.
