Substance abuse and trade in drugs is recognised as a global issue.’ International Day against drug abuse and Illicit Trafficking’, observed on 26th June, is an initiative of the United Nations to raise awareness around drug addiction. Through its drug control conventions, UN aims to strengthen action and cooperation to make the international society free of drug abuse.
People from different walks of life can struggle with addiction. Drug abuse affects the physical and psychological well-being of addicts and their loved ones and takes a heavy toll on society by causing a loss of its most important asset, human resource.
To combat drug abuse in India by raising awareness, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India is conducting a slogan writing contest on 'Fight against Drugs'.
The participants can submit their slogans in the comment section of the contest on ‘MyGov portal’
The participants can also post their slogan on any social media platform like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. They would be required to use #SayNoToDrugs and tag @MyGovIndia
Prizes:
• 1st Prize – INR 15000/-
• 2nd Prize – INR 10000/-
• 3rd Prize – INR 5000/-
• 10 Consolation Prizes- INR 2000/- each
The last date of Submission will be 21st June 2020.
