2019 Astrover Challenge (RO2019)

Astrover Challenge is an exclusive student design competition which focuses on safety, good engineering practice, engineering design, education and creating the opportunity for participating students.
Astrover Challenge 2019 is hosted by Curiosum Tech Private Limited

Competition Objective
The competition challenges teams of students to conceive, design, fabricate, develop and compete with a human-powered non-motorized vehicle which can traverse a simulated surface of another planet
Competition Procedure
The competition starts with a series of technical inspections described in section C. TechnicalInspections to check the vehicle for safety and compliance with the rules.
The competition is divided into a series of s dynamic events described in Part  D

Teams take on the assumption that The Bharat Space Research Unit (BSRU) has determined that understanding the composition of this planet will be beneficial in future research studies. The mission will require teams to visit Planet Ari. As part of the Mission, teams will have to traverse through the landforms of Planet Ari, using a human-powered vehicle built by the team. Teams will assume to have been provided a hypothetical oxygen tank which will last for a minimum time frame within which they have to traverse through the obstacles and complete the given tasks.

Over the course of a two-day competition, a jury of experts judge the design of all the vehicles to determine the best team and vehicle; in addition, the team’s on-track performance scores will demonstrate how well they hold up under real-life conditions.

Only 25 students are allowed to participate on a team.
Each team must have two drivers - one male and one female - who will propel the vehicle on the dynamic course.
Each team must have one team member identified as the team captain. The team captain is the main contact person for the officials during the registration process and the competition.
Each team must assign one inspection responsible person.
