GEOGENIUS NATIONAL GEOGRAPHY OLYMPIAD

The National Geography Olympiad provides a unique competitive platform to identify young geniuses and create a talent pool for the future generations. It brings out the best in you and will help cultivate a kind of analytical reasoning thinking ability in students which is useful in any examination. In addition to this, it hones up yours problem solving skills, thinking capacity, and understanding, level of knowledge and over all development of any student.

ELIGIBILITY:
 Students of State Board, ICSE Board, CBSE Board and International Boards. Standard II to X only.
 Schools should register at least 50 students overall from all standards to be able to enroll for this competition.

There are three categories for Geography Olympiad :
Sub - Junior : Classes 2,3 and 4
Junior : Classes 5,6 and 7
Senior : Classes 8,9 and 10

• The Olympiad will be conducted every year in two Phases. In the Phase I, children will participate at their respective schools throughout the country, during the month of December. In Phase II participants with high scores, based on cut-off will be invited to the National Finals in April.
• Registration forms would be available in the school. Students who wish to participate needs to contact the teacher in- charge at school. Students should be registered through schools only. 
• The medium of the Olympiad will be English.
• Phase I is a written test with 50 multiple choice questions. There will be a different question paper, for each category. 
• There will be NO negative point for any incorrect answer. The participant will be awarded one point for the correct answer and zero for an incorrect answer. The duration to complete the test is 1 hour.

Rewards for Participating Students: (Level 1 School Level)

* All 3 Medals (Gold, Silver and Bronze) will be rewarded in a category subject to at least minimum 15 students participating in a single category.
* If less than 15 but more than 10 students participate then only Gold and silver medals will be rewarded.
* If less than 10 but more than 5 students participate then only Gold medal will be rewarded.
* If less than 5 students participate then no medal will be rewarded.

  School Rank 2 in Category - Silver Medal + Merit Certificate
  School Rank 3 in Category - Bronze Medal + Merit Certificate
  All other participating students

FEES:
 Exam Fees Rs. 140 per student.
 Preparatory Text Book (not compulsory but strongly recommended) Rs. 110.       

Level 1 - Last date for registration is 31st October, 2019. Exam date is 30th December, 2019. Venue: School itself.

Level 2 - (National Finals for selected toppers only) – April, 2017. Venue: Mumbai, Maharashtra.

The level 2 date and venue may change at the discretion of GEO-GENIUS.
