Article Writing Competition 2020

In light of  their recent release of the book ‘Gandhi & Lincoln’, IndianFolk.com is organizing an article writing competition all across India. The competition will be held in two age groups of 13-24 and 25-44 years as provided below along with the prize money.



Note: All the prize winners including consolation prize winners will receive a certificate.

Candidates may write on any topic including but not limited to nation, regional affairs, international relations, politics, economy, health & wellness, society, lifestyle, science & technology, cleanliness & sanitation, environment, agriculture, manufacturing & other industries, trade & commerce, business & finance, workplace, government, defence forces, public administration, history, arts, fashion, sports & entertainment, etc.  If need be, candidates may also combine some of these topics when writing the article. The writings can relate to past, current or future (or a combination thereof), however, they should be original. If the candidates use any pre-existing information or data to support their analysis and viewpoints, they should provide appropriate references at the end of the article.

Candidates must refrain from writing on following matters: movie reviews, sports match or tournament reviews, profiling a celebrity (such as a movie artist or sport star), topics supporting/criticizing a religion, and topics attacking a specific section of Indian population.

How to Participate?
All interested candidates must register at IndianFolk.com to participate in the competition. There is an entry fee of Rs.149 (13-24 Years) and Rs.199 (25-44 Years) respectively. The fee must be paid online at the website on or before 11:59 PM 30th June 2020 (A late fee of Rs.35 applies if paid after this due-date). Candidates who do not have a Debit Card, Credit Card, NetBanking, UPI or Paytm Wallet may use their parent’s, relative’s or friend’s card or account to make the payment. All candidates must submit their articles on the website on or before 11:59 PM 5th July 2020. Specific instructions for registration, payment and submission are provided below. Winners will be announced on or before 15th July 2020. Prize money will be sent within one week of the announcement.

You must submit your article online only at indianfolk.com. Please Login on the website and click Opinion Submission at top right of the home page. You may then provide a title, select category (that best fits your article), select your Age Group, and enter the content of your article (You may copy from your desktop file and paste into the box if you would like). Other fields (‘Tags’ and ‘Upload an Image’) are not required for the purpose of competition, but you may provide those if you would like. After you are done with these steps, please click the ‘Submit Post’ button. You will then see the following confirmation message on the screen, ‘Your opinion article has been submitted. The organisers will get back to you after it has been reviewed by the editorial team.’ You will also receive a confirmation email that your article has been submitted. Please note your article must be submitted by 11:59 PM 5th July 2020.
